Dapeng Subdistrict

Dapeng street, belonging to Dapeng New District, Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province, is located in the middle of Dapeng Peninsula. Daya Bay in the East, Dapeng Bay in the west, Nan'ao street in the South and Kwai Chung street in the north. It has always been the political, economic and cultural center of Dapeng Peninsula. The area is 76.24 square kilometers. The territory is dominated by low mountains and hills with rich vegetation. By the end of 2017, the number of residents in the street was 44 thousand and 500, of which 9 thousand were registered residence. As of October 2019, Dapeng street has jurisdiction over 7 communities, and the neighborhood office is located in Wangmu community.

Dapeng street has a long history. Dapengsuo city is an important coastal defense military fortress in southern China during the Ming and Qing Dynasties, which is the origin of Shenzhen referred to as "Pengcheng". She is the only "national key cultural relics protection unit" and "famous historical and cultural village of China" in Shenzhen. She is the first of the "Eight Sights" in Shenzhen and one of the "top ten cultural cards of Shenzhen". Coastal defense culture, fishery culture, fishing village culture and Hakka culture are typical intangible cultural heritage in Dapeng area.

In 2017, Dapeng Street invested 14.385 million yuan to support 31 projects to promote the transformation and upgrading of the collective economy.

Historical evolution

Dapeng is an important town in the east of Shenzhen. In history, it was subordinate to Panyu county (Qin), BOLUO county (Han Dynasty to the Three Kingdoms), Bao'an county (Xianhe 6th year of the Eastern Jin Dynasty to the 2nd year of Tang Jinde), Dongguan county (from the 2nd year of Tang Jinde to the 1st year of Ming Wanli), Xin'an County (from the 1st year of Ming Wanli to the 5th year of Qing Kangxi), Dongguan county (from the 5th year of Qing Kangxi to the end of Qing Dynasty) and Bao'an county (Republic of China).

In the 14th year of Hongwu in Ming Dynasty (1381), there was a thousand households in Dapeng, subordinate to Nanhai Wei.

In 1394, Fu Bin, a thousand families in Zuowei, Guangzhou, built the city in the Dapeng Peninsula. Because the Dapeng mountain in the city is like a Pengju sea, it is called "Dapeng Suo city".

In October 1949, Dapeng was a township, subordinate to the Fourth District of Huiyang county.

In November 1951, it was transferred to the seventh district of Huiyang county.

In December 1957, the district was withdrawn and the township was merged. The small townships in the seventh district were merged into Dapeng and kuisha townships respectively. Dapeng Township governs the present Dapeng and Nan'ao towns.

In October 1958, Dapeng Township and kuisha Township merged to form Dapeng commune. In November of the same year, Dapeng commune was transferred to Bao'an county.

In 1960, the northern part of Dapeng commune was set up and Kwai Chung commune was established.

In July 1983, the commune system was abolished and Dapeng commune was changed into Dapeng district.

In October 1986, Dapeng district was divided into Dapeng town and Nan'ao town.

In January 1993, Baoan county was divided into Baoan District and Longgang District, and Dapeng town was subordinate to Longgang District.

In 2004, Dapeng Street office was still under the jurisdiction of Longgang District.

On December 30, 2011, Dapeng new district was established, and Dapeng street is subordinate to Dapeng new district.

Dapeng street is located in the middle of Dapeng Peninsula, adjacent to Daya Bay in the East, Nan'ao street in the south, Dapeng Bay in the west, across the sea from Hong Kong New Territories, and Kwai Chung street in the north. It is 50km away from Shenzhen City and 30km away from Yantian port, covering an area of 76.24km2.

The topography of Dapeng street is mainly coastal low mountains and hills, mostly covered by residual slope breccia and thin layer of red soil weathering crust, with wide valley and small plain scattered in the mountains and seashore. The coastline is 40.84 km long, with bedrock along the coast. The beach, island, sea erosion cliff, cave, bridge, column and other marine erosion landforms are well developed, and the coastal scenery is beautiful.

It originates from qiushuiling and flows into Daya Bay, with a length of 7.4 kilometers and a drainage area of 15.8 square kilometers.

Agriculture

Industry

On April 2, 1986, the foundation of Daya Bay nuclear power plant, located in the east of Dapeng street, was officially laid. Then Premier Li Peng attended the ceremony. After that, large-scale national, provincial and municipal energy enterprises such as Ling'ao nuclear power plant, fuhuade power plant, LNG station line project and Eastern Power Plant settled here, and Dapeng became a real energy town in eastern China. Daya Bay nuclear power station covers an area of 2 square kilometers, with a total investment of 4.1 billion US dollars. It introduces French nuclear power technology and equips two pressurized water reactor generating units of 900000 kW each. Unit 1 was put into operation in February 1994, and unit 2 was put into operation in May of the same year. In that year, the nuclear power plant generated 10.7 billion kwh, 70% of which was supplied to Hong Kong and the rest to Guangdong.
