Erzhi Township
Erzhi Township, belonging to Wuchuan County, Hohhot City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, is located in the northwest of Wuchuan County. It is adjacent to xiwulanbulang town in the East, halaheshao town in the south, Yinhao town in Guyang County of Baotou City in the southwest, huaishuo town in Guyang County of Baotou City in the West, and wukehudong town and Shibao town in Damao Banner of Baotou City in the north. It is 74 kilometers away from the county, with a total administrative area of 72 3.9 square kilometers.
In the Qing Dynasty, Erzhi township was a nomadic area of the Mongolian Darhan tribe; in 2006, Donghongsheng and Xihongshan were merged into Erzhi township. By the end of 2018, the number of registered residence in two townships was 23569. In 2019, Erzhi Township governs 15 administrative villages.
The animal husbandry in Erzhi township is mainly for raising sheep and poultry, and the industrial system is mainly for processing iron concentrate. In 2018, Erzhi township has 4 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.
History of construction
In the Qing Dynasty, it was a nomadic land of the Mongolian Darhan tribe.
During the period of the Republic of China, Wuchuan was divided into the ninth district.
In 1950, the Fifth District was set up in the second group.
In 1953, it was renamed District 7.
In 1955, it was renamed "two member district".
At the beginning of 1958, it was changed to Erzhi township; in September of the same year, it was changed to Erzhi commune.
In March 1984, Erzhi commune was transformed into Erzhi township.
In 2006, Donghongsheng Township and Xihongshan Township were merged into Erzhi township.

History and culture
Erzhi Township got its name because the township government was stationed in Erzhi village. In 1899, the Qing government reclaimed and released land in Darhan banner. A businessman surnamed Zhang in Wuchuan County bought ten pieces of land. In the second piece of land, he built his own business name and sold it to other merchants to open shops. The rest of the land was rented to outsiders for farming. Later, the farmers settled here and formed a village, named Eryuan village.
