Huadong town

Huadong town is located in the east of Huadu District, Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province. It is 15km away from the government of Huadu District. It is adjacent to Huashan Town in the west, Conghua District in the East and North, Baiyun District in the south. The north exit of Guangzhou New Baiyun International Airport is in the town. Huadu Avenue and Shanqian tourism Avenue run through the middle of the town. National highways 105, 106 and 107 are adjacent to it. Beijing Zhuhai Expressway, Daguang Expressway and Guangle expressway are located in the town Expressway, North Third Ring Expressway, new Baiguang intercity expressway, airport No.2 Expressway and jiebei Expressway meet in the town. The three-dimensional transportation network is complete and convenient. With an area of 208.44 square kilometers (2017), the town is the largest in Huadu District.

In October 2019, Huadong town was selected as one of the "Top 1000 towns with comprehensive strength in China in 2019".

Historical evolution

Beixing Town, which was later merged into Huadong Town, has 61 natural villages (polders). There are 38 Hakka speakers and 20 vernacular speakers. In addition, beixingwei, Fuxin, chengling and other villages (dikes) are local and Hakka. The population of the town is 22562. 16668 people speak vernacular, accounting for 73.9%; 5894 people speak Hakka, accounting for 26.1%.

Remarkable achievements have been made in the construction of key projects. In 2013, our town identified 18 key projects (10 of which were included in the municipal and district key construction projects), and took strong measures to promote the project construction. A total of 858 million yuan was invested in the whole year, including 1 project under preliminary work, 7 projects started or started, and 10 projects completed. Traffic roads will be more optimized. The east section of Huabei Avenue with a total investment of 130 million yuan has completed 30% of the total progress. With a total investment of 31.18 million yuan, the hard bottoming project of 46 km village roads involving 36 administrative villages was fully completed in September, achieving the goal of 100% hard bottoming of village roads ahead of schedule. Early stage work such as Huaxing Avenue West, Yonglian road and Jifu road has been stepped up. The land acquisition and demolition of Beijing Hong Kong Macao, Zhaohua, Guangle, North Third Ring Expressway Projects are progressing smoothly.

Urban supporting facilities are becoming more and more perfect. Successfully completed the land acquisition work of the East water plant expansion project. The first phase of rural secondary water improvement project with a total investment of 9.67 million yuan is about to be completed. A total investment of 10 million yuan of the East Ring Road sewage pipeline reconstruction project started construction. 10.63 million yuan was invested to improve the rural domestic waste collection and transportation system, and 99 waste transfer stations were built. The preliminary work of the central kindergarten construction project in Huadong town with a total investment of 21 million yuan has been stepped up. The main project of Huadong fire station with a total investment of 30 million yuan has been basically completed.

The quality of human settlements has been greatly improved. 10.72 million yuan was invested to complete 22 road and park greening projects.
