Chatian town
Chatian town is subordinate to Fenghuang County, Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture of Hunan Province, located in the southwest of Fenghuang County, 33 kilometers away from the county. It intersects with Guogongping town of Mayang County in the East, Tongren City of Guizhou Province in the west, and alhuanghe in the north.
With a total area of 95.99 square kilometers (2017), Chatian town has jurisdiction over 10 villages, 2 communities, 66 villager groups, and a population of 13125 (2017). It is a typical mixed community of Miao, Tujia and Han nationalities. The town has 12365 mu of arable land, including 2265 mu of dry land and 10100 mu of paddy field.
In 2014, the GDP of Chatian town was 52.12 million yuan, the fiscal revenue was 6.02 million yuan, and the per capita net income was 3713 yuan.

Chatian town is located in the southwest of Fenghuang County, 33 kilometers away from the county. It intersects Linfeng Township in the East, Tongren City in Guizhou Province in the west, and alahuang village in the north. The total area is 95.99 square kilometers (2017).
topographic features
The terrain in Chatian town fluctuates greatly, mainly in mountainous areas. The terrain is high in the South (Hehui village and tangao village are 600-900 meters above sea level), low in the East and West (Lianghekou Hydropower Station and Heping Village are 250-450 meters above sea level), and hilly basins in the North (500-650 meters above sea level). There are many valleys, deep streams, dense streams and karst caves in the west, South and East.
There are five mountains above 800 meters above sea level in the territory, which are distributed around xindixi in the south of the town. Among them, dayanpo is 873.5 meters high, and jiuchongyan, the highest peak, is 910 meters above sea level, which is the highest peak in Fenghuang county to the south of Tuojiang River (the south of Fenghuang County). The relative height of 700 meters on its south slope is higher than that of Bagong mountain (1059.3 meters above sea level and more than 500 meters above sea level); the lowest point is in the valley near huangjianong, Heping Village, which is less than 280 meters.
Climatic characteristics
Chatian town has a humid monsoon climate in the middle subtropics. It has four distinct seasons and a pleasant climate. The annual average temperature is 16.2 ℃ and the annual rainfall is 1100-1600 mm.

There are two forest farms in Chatian town. Chapingjie forest farm covers an area of 12000 mu (covering tangao, Heping and Hehui villages), and leidongjie forest farm covers an area of 100570 mu (covering Heping, Jiangzhai and Dutong villages). The forest coverage rate reaches 47%, mainly pine and fir.
