In 1950, No. 2 Hui nationality township belonged to the four districts of Guyuan County; in 1984, it was separated from Erdao District commune and changed into No. 2 Hui nationality township. By the end of 2018, the number of registered residence in the Hui nationality township was 3133. As of June 2020, No. 2 Hui village has four administrative villages, and the Township People's government is located in No. 2 street village.

History of construction
In 1950, the territory of the second Hui nationality township belonged to the four districts of Guyuan County.
In 1958, it belonged to Erdao District commune.
In 1984, it was separated out from Erdao District commune and changed into No.2 Hui nationality township.
