Zeya town

Zeya town is located in the southwest of Wenzhou City and upstream of Shupu River, a tributary of Oujiang River. It is adjacent to Tengqiao Town, Lucheng District in the north, Jinshan Township, Ruian City in the south, Fangshan Township, Qingtian County in the west, Qiyun mountain range in the north and 18 km away from the urban area. It has 81 administrative villages (including 68 Gaoshan villages above 200 meters above sea level) and 2 neighborhood committees, with a total population of 29895 (2017). There are 33494 mu of cultivated land, including 21418 mu of paddy field and 12076 mu of dry land. In the territory, there are many pits and valleys in the mountains, with dense streams, fast mountain water flow and rich water resources. It is one of the top ten tourism towns in Wenzhou.

General situation

Zeya scenic spot is known as "xiyandang". It starts from Longjing temple in Longjing mountain in the south, Lingyun temple in Lingshan mountain in the north, Baizhangji in mazichuan in the East and chuchuzhangzhang in Qiyun mountain in the west, with a total area of 145.4 square kilometers (2017). It is composed of eight scenic spots: Longxi, Zeya lake, Xishan, Wufeng, Qiyun, gaoshanjiao, jinkengxia and qibaojian. There are more than 230 scenic spots in the whole area. It is a provincial scenic spot in the suburb of Wenzhou City. It has been awarded as "excellent scenic spot construction in Zhejiang Province", "beautiful scenery paradise loved by tourists in Zhejiang Province" and "top ten scenic spots in Wenzhou City" by the Provincial Department of construction and tourists.

In 1949, it belonged to the West Bank area, under the jurisdiction of Zeya Township, Dayuan Township, beilinlong Township, West Bank Township and gushuan township. In 1958, the townships were changed into communes respectively. In 198, they were renamed Zeya district. Gusuan township was renamed wufenglong township. It has jurisdiction over Zeya Township, wufenglong Township, beilinlong Township, Xixi Township and zhouao township. In 1985, Zeya changed from township to town. Zeya district was removed in 1992, zhou'ao township was merged into Zeya town in 1995, and Zeya old town was relocated in 1997. Before Yuankou, Zeya Town, with an area of 32.83 square kilometers and a population of 14000, has jurisdiction over Zeya neighborhood committee and 18 administrative villages including zeshang, zexia, Zexin, Lingxue, Dachuan, Dongshan, Xishan, menzhunshan, dapingtou, mazichuan, lin'ao, aowai, Shiqiao, Xiaan, Lin'an, Longtou, Panzhuang and wukeng Wufenglong Township covers an area of 29.3 square kilometers with a population of 9000, and it governs 15 administrative villages including wufenglong, Huangzhuang, bao'ao, Lishan, Shiliang, Jitian, Guichuan, dechen'ao, Huanglong, butaolong, zhikeng, gushuan, kumenao, kengyuan and dongqiaotou; beilinlong Township covers an area of 26.9 square kilometers with a population of 8000, and it governs Linlong, Yushan, Miaohou, Miaoyi, Shikeng, Huangshan, waiye and Shike Xi'an Township covers an area of 23.4 square kilometers and has a population of 14000. It governs 19 administrative villages in Xi'an, Longkeng, waishuiliang, Henglong, Shangpan, shuidukeng, xialiang, xialiankeng, tangzhai, Yanzhang, xiaoshilong, huanglingtou, Huangkeng, Yanmen, ligoulong, sutian, xianzhaishan, dashuilong and Aodi. In 2001, Tianchang village and GeTian village of Tengqiao town were put under the jurisdiction of Zeya town. At the end of 2003, the West Bank Township, wufenglong Township and beilinlong Township were abolished and merged into Zeya town.
