Yangping town

Yangping Town, belonging to Quyang County, Baoding City, Hebei Province, is located 10 kilometers south of Quyang County, adjacent to di village in the southeast, Wende Township in the northeast, Zhengmo town in Xinle City in the south, Nanqiao town in Xingtang County in the West and Xiaolin town in the north. The town people's government is located in Ping Bei Village, West sheep. In 1953, xiyangping township was built. In 1991, xiyangping township was transformed into a town. In 1996, beiyangma township was merged and renamed Yangping town. There are Quxin highway, Shuohuang Railway and Yangping town passenger station. On July 27, 2017, Yangping town was announced as the second batch of national characteristic towns by the Ministry of housing and urban rural development.

Name and origin

Yangping town is named after the town government's residence in xiyangpingbei village.

Sculpture culture

Quyang is known as the hometown of sculpture, and Yangping town is the birthplace of sculpture. There is a Huangshan Mountain in the town, which produces high-quality white marble with fine texture, suitable for carving. In Yuan Dynasty, Yang Qiong's "one lion and one tripod" as a tribute was praised by Kublai Khan, the emperor of the Yuan Dynasty, who called it "this unique skill". He "compiled it into the palace, supervised the masons in Yannan to build Dadu", and put it to Jinshui bridge in front of Tiananmen. At the end of the Qing Dynasty, artist Liu Puzhi won the second prize in Panama International Art Fair for his sculptures such as "fairy Dove" and "Gan Zhi Mei". Huangshan Bahui Temple

Huangshan Bahui temple is located on Huangshan Mountain, 10km south of Quyang County. There were eight temples in ancient times, such as Shangge, Xiage, Bodhisattva and bell tower, so it is called Bahui temple. It was first built in Qi and Zhou dynasties, and gradually became a Buddhist holy land in central Hebei.
