General situation of the town

Zhifang town is located 37 kilometers southwest of Xihua county, adjacent to Shahe River in the south, and Yinghe River inclines to the northeast through the middle, belonging to alluvial plain of Shahe and Yinghe River, with flat terrain.

Historical evolution

In the early Ming Dynasty, a paper mill was set up, which was named paper mill. Later, a couple moved to Hongdong County, Shanxi Province to build a paper house, which promoted the development of paper industry in Zhifang village and renamed Zhifang village. In 1965, Xiaoyao commune and Fengmu commune were divided into Zhifang commune, which was set up in today's Zhifang village. In 1968, it was moved to the current site. In 1984, it was renamed township. In 1995, it was withdrawn from township to establish town.
