Yangshao town

Yangshao Town, formerly known as Yangshao Township, is located in the middle of Mianchi County, Henan Province, with Yima City in the East, Chencun Township in the West and Chengguan town in the south, encircling half of Mianchi County, covering an area of 90.27 square kilometers (2017).

In January 2011, with the approval of the people's Government of Henan Province, Yangshao township was removed from township to town. It is a typical suburban town, named after the "Yangshao village cultural site".

Historical evolution

In the past five years, Yangshao town has been awarded the "great contribution unit" by the county Party committee and the county government for successive years. In 2005, it was named as the "five good Party committee of the whole province" by the Henan provincial Party committee. Feng Yi city was built by general Feng Yi in the third year of the reign of Emperor Guangwu of the Eastern Han Dynasty. Although it was eroded by wind and rain for two thousand years, it has not been damaged so far. It has a high reference value for the study of ancient civil engineering.

Influenced by Yangshao culture, Yangshao people attach importance to education and strive to be "cultural people". Today's Yangshao township is full of early childhood education, primary education, junior high school education and senior high school education. Mianchi high school in the territory has 60 teaching classes with elegant environment, first-class facilities and high teaching quality. It is listed as a provincial model high school.
