Historical evolution

Sunkou commune was established in Shouzhang County of Shandong Province in 1961. It was transferred to fan County of Henan Province in 1964, Taiqian County of Henan Province in 1971 and changed to township in 1984. In 1997, it covers an area of 35.2 square kilometers and has a population of 25000.
