Yanzhen Township
Yanzhen township is located in the northwest of Yiyang County. It is the junction of Yiyang, Xin'an, Mianchi and Yima. The township government is 33 kilometers away from Yiyang County.
Yanzhen has a long history. According to the records of the old county annals, the state set up a salt transfer station here in the Ming Dynasty. Every year, a certain amount of salt was transferred from Jiechi, Shanxi Province, where it was transported by the government and then distributed to various places, so it was named Yanzhen. Shiling village is under its jurisdiction. In the west of the village is Shi Jingtang's mausoleum, the founder of the Five Dynasties and the Ten Kingdoms, which is now a key cultural relic protection unit of the state.
Yanzhen Township covers a total area of 170.43 square kilometers, with 36 administrative villages, 225 natural villages, 417 villager groups and a total population of 61312 (2017).
At present, Yanzhen township is promoting the construction of central town in Yiyang County, and the first phase of the project is basically completed.

Yanzhen township is a big agricultural township, tobacco is the pillar industry, tobacco income is the main source of farmers' income. Soil fertility, mostly red clay, the main crops are tobacco, wheat, millet, beans, sweet potato and so on. The township party committee and government have always attached great importance to agricultural development, and constantly increased the construction of agricultural infrastructure, which has laid a solid foundation for the development of agricultural economy. Yanzhen township has been an important trade center in western Henan since ancient times. It is the largest distribution center of minor cereals in western Henan. There are more than ten varieties of corn, peanuts, soybeans, black beans, mung beans, sesame and so on. The daily purchase volume is more than 200 tons at the peak.
In 2014, 17230 mu of tobacco leaves were transplanted in the township, with a total purchase amount of 2.08 million Jin and a total investment of 20.17 million yuan, accounting for 63.46% of the total purchase, ranking first in tobacco planting towns in Luoyang City. Historical evolution

There are also myths and legends. In ancient times, a salt pig (a symbol of the animal that produces salt) wanted to settle down here, but he thought the place was too small and roared all day long A shepherd tired of listening, casually replied: "can't lie down, you go!" The salt pig had to go to Jiexian County, Shanxi Province. So it is also called Yanmo (Potou), because it is a big market town, also called Yanzhen.
The area of Yanzhen in Ming Dynasty belonged to beisanli of beicebao, and beierli was from the ninth year of Chongzhen to the 15th year of the Republic of China (1926). In 1927, it belonged to the second district (the district government was stationed in Shiling). In 1943, it belonged to Shiling Township and Liuying township (Qizhuang area). During the occupation of Yiyang, it was the third district of Yiyang County, which belonged to Liuquan district at the beginning of liberation. It was changed into a town in 1950 and still belongs to Liuquan district (the third district). In 1956, it was changed into the Central Township of Yanzhen Town, with jurisdiction over five general townships, including Zhangcun, beice, Liying, zhougou and Qizhuang. In 1958, Yanzhen people's commune was established. It was changed to Yanzhen Township in 1983. In 1990, it had jurisdiction over 22 administrative villages, 271 villager groups, 97 natural villages, 8268 households and 38858 people, including 23 Hui, 58 Uygur, 1 Dong and 1 Bai, and the rest Han. With an average of 455 people per square kilometer, the per capita cultivated land is 2.22 mu.

The suitable forest land is 5000 mu, and the barren mountain is about 3000 mu. There are four reservoirs in the township, with a total length of 21166 meters.
The main crops are wheat, corn, millet, sweet potato, cotton and so on, especially wheat and sweet potato. In addition to self use, the sweet potato noodles are exported to Shaanxi, Qinghai, Xinjiang, Heilongjiang and other places.
The township has machinery factory, flour mill, forest farm, etc., with an annual output value of more than 100000 yuan. The highway links to the county, Shiling, tiemen, Xin'an, Liuquan and other places, and there are regular buses and trucks directly to Luoyang City, which has changed the phenomenon of traffic unchanged and freight blocked in history.
Culture, education and health: before liberation, there were only 15 primary schools with 50 teachers. In 1990, there were 1 high school, 20 teaching staff, 139 students, 17 junior middle schools, 78 primary schools, 419 primary and secondary school teachers, 7393 primary and secondary school students, 1 cinema, 1 hospital, 16 medical staff, 51 clinics and 89 doctors.
Yanzhen township was set up in 1956, changed to commune in 1958, and changed to township in 1983. In 1997, it covers an area of 94.5 square kilometers and has a population of 41000. It has jurisdiction over 22 administrative villages, including Dazhai, Liuling, zhouguo, Xigou, Shangzhuang, Lvlin, Tani, huigua, Zhaoyu, zhougou, beiliying, Baishe, Gushi, Angou, wangkeng, Luocun, Qizhuang, Zhangcun, beice, Heshanggou, Xiecun and Yanzhen. In 2005, Shiling township was abolished, and its administrative area was under the jurisdiction of Yanzhen Township, and the resident of Yanzhen township government remained unchanged.
