Qiancheng Town, located in the southwest of Hongjiang City, is now the seat of the new Hongjiang municipal government and municipal government. Historical evolution
Qiancheng has a long history. It has been the seat of the county from the early Western Han Dynasty to 1949. In 1998, Qianyang County and Hongjiang City merged to form a new Hongjiang City. The people's Government of the new Hongjiang City was stationed in Qiancheng town. In December 2004, xinhongjiang municipal government moved to Qiancheng Town, and by 2012, all units were relocated to Qiancheng town. Since then, Qiancheng has regained its status as a county seat. Hongjiang municipal government has made high standard planning and construction for the new city under municipal governance. Since 2000, Qiancheng city has accelerated the pace of the renovation and reconstruction of the old city and the construction of the new city. Schools, office buildings and high-rise residential buildings have sprung up. The urban area of Qiancheng will be expanded to 12 square kilometers in 2018, and the built-up area will be expanded to 18 square kilometers in 2020, making Qiancheng a political, economic, cultural and educational center of Hongjiang City and a back garden of Huaihua City.
Qiancheng town is an ancient city with a history of more than 2200 years. Tancheng county was established in the fifth year of emperor Gaozu of Han Dynasty (202 BC), Longbiao County in Tang Dynasty, and Qianyang County in the third year of Yuanfeng of Song Dynasty (1080 AD). Before the founding of new China, it was always the seat of Qianyang County.
In 1997, the State Council approved the merger of Qianyang County and Hongjiang City to establish a new Hongjiang City, which is governed by Qiancheng town. In 1998, the people's Government of Hunan Province approved the merger of the former Qiancheng town and Qiancheng town to establish a new Qiancheng town. 3. Tuxi area has formed a key product and pillar industry dominated by Phyllostachys pubescens and Carya cathayensis. 4.
