Guangping Township

Guangping township of Liaocheng City has a long history and culture. In 548 BC, Duke Lu Xiang met the princes here, and the monument of Shandong zhangjialou revolutionary martyrs, Shandong hero village, a key cultural relics protection unit of Shandong Provincial People's government, stood solemnly. The township covers an area of 61.43 square kilometers, with 55 thousand mu of arable land. There are 45 administrative villages under its jurisdiction, with 31859 people (2017). It has a comprehensive land development base of the Ministry of land and resources and a "Jinhe brand" pollution-free vegetable breeding and promotion base.

On March 2, 2013, with the approval of the State Council, Liaocheng Economic Development Zone of Shandong Province was officially upgraded to a national economic and Technological Development Zone, and Guangping township of Liaocheng City was assigned to Liaocheng Economic Development Zone of Shandong Province.

On September 7, 2020, the Standing Committee of Dongchangfu District People's Congress of Liaocheng City announced that according to the provincial government's "reply on agreeing to adjust some administrative divisions of Dongchangfu District of Liaocheng City" and the municipal government's "notice on adjusting some administrative divisions of Liaocheng City", Hanji Township and Guangping Township of Dongchangfu District of Liaocheng City were cancelled, and Hanji town and Guangping town of Dongchangfu District of Liaocheng City were established.

Economics

In recent years, the Party committee and government of Guangping Township, Liaocheng City, Shandong Province, closely around the main line of adjusting and optimizing the structure, established Shandong vegetable marketing company, and registered the pollution-free "Shandong Jinhe brand" trademark, out of the "company base, base with farmers" development mode. The township has developed 8000 mu of pollution-free "Jinhe brand" pond lotus and 10000 mu of organic ecological watermelon, and its products are popular in the surrounding cities. In addition, Guangping township has given full play to the characteristics of sandy wasteland, saline and alkaline waterlogged lowlands, and vigorously carried out the construction of winter jujube, animal husbandry and ecological protection forest, thus forming four leading industries of vegetables, fruits, forestry and animal husbandry.

Scenic Spots and Historical Sites

Zhangjialou martyrs cemetery in Shandong Province is located in the south of zhangjialou village, Guangping Township, Liaocheng City, Shandong Province. In memory of the 333 martyrs who died bravely in fighting against the Japanese puppet army, the cemetery is 150 meters long from north to South and 25 meters wide from east to west. In the north, there are five red tile houses. On the plaque, there are eight characters imitating the Song Dynasty: "zhangjialou Revolutionary Memorial Hall in Shandong Province". The museum displays sticks, knives, spears, muskets, relics of martyrs and stories of heroes used in those years. A monument to the people's Heroes stands 30 meters in front of the museum. The base of the monument is a three-level concrete square platform. The monument is in the shape of a square column, 5 meters high and 1 meter wide. It is covered with a ridge cornice crown. The body and base of the monument are engraved with inscriptions on four sides, and the south side is engraved with eight vigorous characters: "the people's heroes will live forever!".

On the sixth day of the lunar month in 1944, Li Qishan, the puppet brigade commander of Chiping County, Shandong Province, colluded with nearly 3000 Shandong provincial public security forces, 17 regiments and 24 regiments in Liaocheng, Linqing and Bo, Shandong Province, to attack zhangjialou village in Shandong Province at dawn, and was bravely blocked by more than 700 soldiers and civilians in the village. The whole village, men, women, old and young, went to battle with the enemy skillfully with the help of favorable terrain and weapons such as sticks, knives, spears and earth guns. At dusk, Ling Lin of Chiping County, Shandong Province, led all the armed forces to reinforce and attack inside and outside, repelling the puppet army led by Li Qishan.
