Laofu town

Laofu Town, belonging to Songshan District, Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, is located in the west of Songshan District. It connects Wangfu town in the East, faces Chengzi Township in the southeast, borders Weichang Manchu and Mongolian Autonomous County in Chengde City, Hebei Province in the southwest and Damiao town in the north. The area is 599.66 square kilometers. By the end of 2018, 34191 people registered residence.

In 1968, Laofu commune was renamed Mingshan commune and a revolutionary committee was established. In 1969, it was renamed Laofu commune. In 1980, the commune management committee was restored. In 1984, it was in the suburb of Chifeng City. In 1993, Laofu commune was transformed into a town. In June 2020, Laofu town governs 24 administrative villages.

Historical evolution

At the beginning of the 34th year of the Republic of China (1945), it belonged to Chixi County, Rezhong special office of Jehol province.

In 1949, it belonged to Laofu district (ten districts) of Chifeng county.
