It is a township level administrative unit under the jurisdiction of Mengyin County, Linyi City, Shandong Province, China. Liancheng town is the hometown of Qin Dynasty general Meng Tian. It is located in the southwest of Mengyin County, adjacent to Mengyin street and Taoxu town in the East, Mengyin street and Changlu town in the north, Xintai City and Pingyi County in the West. It is 6 kilometers away from the county seat, adjacent to the main peak of Mengshan mountain and guimengding, the second peak of Shandong Province, in the south, with a total area of 161.08 square kilometers and a cultivated area of 57000 mu.

Fengjie, Xinhe and Liancheng were three townships in 1949. In 1956, they were merged and called Liancheng. In 1958, it belonged to Yaxi commune, known as Liancheng management area. The commune was established in 1961, and the township was changed in 1983. In 1992, the three townships of Sugang, Zhangcun street and Liancheng merged to form Liancheng town. Development history
Liancheng town has a long history and is the hometown of Meng Tian, a general of Qin Dynasty. In the late Qing Dynasty, it belonged to Wennan township of Xiyi district. In the early Republic of China, it was divided into - township. After liberation, it became Chengzi District in 1945, the Fourth District of Mengyin County in 1951, Liancheng District in 1955, buwa Township in December 1957, buwa people's commune in October 1958, Liancheng District in 1963, Liancheng District in 1968, Liancheng people's commune in 1968, and Liancheng and Changma townships in 1985. In January 2001, it became Liancheng township. In August 2010, Liancheng township was removed from township to town.
