Sikou town
Sikou town is located in the middle of Wuyuan County, Jiangxi Province. Sikou village, where the town government is located, is 13 kilometers away from the county seat, covering an area of 120.7 square kilometers, with a permanent resident population of 14674 (2017). The landform is mainly hilly, and the mountainous area accounts for 76.6% of the total land area of the town. It is the key forest and tea area in the county. The forest area is 140000 mu, the volume of standing trees is 320000 cubic meters, and the annual sales volume of commercial timber is 5000 cubic meters. There are 4000 mu tea gardens, mainly producing Mingmei and Xianzhi tea. Rice (14509 mu of paddy field) and rape are mainly planted in 18000 cultivated land. The market towns are distributed along both sides of Wangfu highway, with a population of 1800. There are 1 junior high school, 1 Central Primary School and 8 village primary schools in the town. In addition to the township hospitals, there are 16 village clinics.
Historical evolution
In the early Tang Dynasty, Teng, ye, Bao and other surnames lived together in this bend, because they were named yunwan. During the Southern Tang Dynasty, the family name of huangdunjiang in Shexian County moved here, and the descendants became a huge family, so it was changed to the present name. Before the founding of the people's Republic of China, Jiangwan, Longchuan, Hetian and Wangkou townships were under the jurisdiction. In the early days of the founding of the people's Republic of China, it belonged to JiangWan District (the Second District), which was divided into Jiangwan, Hetian and Wangkou townships. Xiaoqi and zhankeng townships were added in 1950, Zhonglu township was added in 1952, and Jiangwan and Wangkou townships were merged in 1956. Jiangwan commune was established in 1958, Wangkou commune was established in 1961, Jiangwan commune was merged again in 1963, Jiangwan township was renamed in 1984, and township was established in May 1993. In 1997, it covers an area of 156 square kilometers and has a population of 17000. It governs 10 administrative villages including Jiangwan, Zhongping, zhankeng, Zhonglv, Wangkou, Gukeng, hongtan, Hetian, Xiaoqi and huxiuzhuang. The town government is located in Jiangwan, 23 kilometers away from the county seat. Xiaobighead township was merged in 2001, and Dafan town was merged in 2003.
Attachment: xiaobighead township is located in the east of Wuyuan County, upstream of Jiangwan River, and adjacent to Jinma Town, Kaihua County, Zhejiang Province in the East and south. Bighead stream flows through the rural area and joins Jiangwan water at the northwest border. It is 26 kilometers away from the county. Xiaobighead commune was established in 1958, and the township was changed in 1984. In 1997, it covers an area of 61 square kilometers and has a population of 8000. The township government is located in limukeng and governs six administrative villages, namely limukeng, xiaobighead, qianduan, Huangling, Dafeng and Dongtou. On December 3, 2001, xiaobighead township was abolished and transferred to Jiangwan Town (reply No. 570 of ganmin Zi).

Xi (West) Wu (yuan) highway runs obliquely through the middle. Dafan commune was established in 1958, the township was changed in 1984, and the town was established in 1994. In 1997, it covers an area of 76 square kilometers and has a population of 6000. It governs seven administrative villages, namely Dafan, Wucun, Jixi, fangkeng, Diyuan, Lingli and gushudi. The town government is located in Dafan, 29 kilometers away from the county town. On October 21, 2003, Dafan town was abolished and the construction system was put under the jurisdiction of Jiangwan Town.

Yu's ancestral hall and Quchi tablet in Wangkou are the key cultural relics under provincial protection. Xi (West) Wu (yuan) highway runs through the middle from east to west.

natural resources
The town is rich in forest and bamboo resources, with 147000 mu of mountain forest, including 86000 mu of broad-leaved forest and 10000 mu of Phyllostachys pubescens. The volume of standing trees keeps 330000 cubic meters throughout the year, and the forest coverage rate is 84%. The cultivated land is 18000 mu, including 14500 mu of paddy field and 4500 mu of tea field. There is a tea refining plant, with 1000 pig farms, 100 tons of layers, 1000 broiler farms, 100 mu of seedlings, flowers and other characteristic agriculture. There are 3 hydropower stations with an installed capacity of 1840 kW, 5 small (second) reservoirs and 25 ponds. Sikou is rich in organic rice. It is the production base of Wuyuan green tea. The supply of cold water fish in Xiyuan spring pond is in short supply.
agricultural development
The cultivated land of Sikou town is 18000 mu, including 14509 mu of paddy field. There are 3125 mu of early rice, 10187 mu of middle late rice and 2968 mu of second late rice. Sikou is one of the key tea areas in the county. In the late 1980s and early 1990s, the tea garden area was 8000 mu, and the output reached 7000 Dan. With the decline of tea market, the area of tea garden is about 4000 mu, with an annual output of 250000 Jin. Tea making technology has a long history. In 1915, "xiehechang" tea house of Sikou Longteng village and "dingshenglong" tea house of Yancun village all won the first prize. Now it mainly produces tea, such as Mingmei, Xianzhi, etc.
Forestry resources
The forest area is 140000 mu, the forest coverage rate is 81.5%, the volume of standing trees is 320000 cubic meters, and the main trees are Cunninghamia lanceolata (60%), pine (25%), Phyllostachys pubescens and evergreen broad-leaved forest (15%). The national public welfare forest is designated as 15061 mu (key type: mainly natural forest), the general type of national public welfare forest is designated as 8613 mu (mainly artificial forest), the conversion of farmland to forest is 4818 mu, and there are 19 nature reserves with an area of 1552 mu. 5000 cubic meters of wood are sold to the state every year, of which about 70% are Cunninghamia lanceolata and about 30% are pine. There are 13 employees in the forestry workstation, 1 forest administrator in the town, and they are laid off Six people are supported and one retired. It is in the process of reform. After the reform, there will be four forest managers.
road construction
Most of the village roads in the area of Sikou town were built in the 1960s and 1970s, with many bends, steep slopes, narrow subgrade, low grade and poor traffic capacity in sunny and rainy days. The masses sighed: "Sikou is very close to the county, so it's hard to go to the county." In order to improve the traffic conditions of Sikou and promote the economic development of the town, the Party committee and government of Sikou town size up the situation, conform to the public opinion, seize the main line of rural highway construction, raise funds from all sides, and set off a upsurge of building village road in the whole town. In three years, the subgrade of village road was reconstructed and the pavement of village road was hardened. The road hardening schedule of Tongxing village in Sikou town is as follows: the subgrade of Sikou Sixi road was reconstructed in 2003, and the road surface was hardened in 2004, with a length of 3.7 km, to realize the road surface hardening of tongsixi village. In 2006, the road from qiantankou to Qiantan was built, with 3.0 km of route, to realize the road surface hardening of tongqiantan village; from 2005 to 2006, the subgrade of Jinzhu Xiyuan Road was reconstructed, with 7.7 km of road surface hardening in 2007, to realize the road surface hardening of tonggaojian and Xiyuan administrative villages; in 2006, the subgrade of Sixi Xichong (heshantan) road was reconstructed, with 7.3 km of road surface hardening in 2007 The road surface of tongxichong and heshantan administrative villages has been hardened. Sikou village and Changtan village are located at the side of Wangcun Fuchun highway, which was hardened in 2003. Eight administrative villages in Sikou town have been fully hardened. In April 2008, the CPC Wuyuan County Committee and the people's Government of Wuyuan County awarded Sikou town the first to realize the road hardening in the whole county and connect villages and towns.

There are 1 Central Primary School, 8 village primary schools and 9 primary schools in total. There are 62 teachers (21 in Central Primary School) and 22 retired teachers. There are 689 students in grade 1-6 (271 in Central Primary School). Apart from the new teaching buildings of Central Primary School and Sixi primary school, the other seven village primary schools were built in the 1970s.
Famous village
Sixi, a village with the surname of Yu, was built in the fifth year of Qingyuan (1199 A.D.) of the Southern Song Dynasty. Because it is located next to Qingxi, it is named "Sixi" because of the interdependence of fish (Yu) and water. Sixi village is surrounded by mountains and water, and the mountain village is integrated with the natural landscape to achieve the beautiful artistic conception of ingenious combination of house community and natural environment.
