Laicun town

Laicun Town, subordinate to Ningdu County, Ganzhou City, Jiangxi Province, is located in the southwest of Ningdu County, adjacent to Zhuzuo Township, Tiantou town and Huangshi town in the East, Dingpi township of Ruijin City and ge'ao township of Yudu County in the south, Meijiao town of Xingguo County in the West and Qingtang town in the north. The town has an area of 180 square kilometers, with 15 administrative villages and 1 communities, and registered residence population of 60 thousand and 700 in 2018.

Lai village was established as a township government in 1947. In December 1954, it was transferred from Yudu to Ningdu county. Laicun town has 319 National Highway running through the East and West, QUANNAN Expressway passing through, Qingxi river flowing through the north and south.

Historical evolution

According to relevant records and textual research, Lai village was originally named Lai Shuili. As early as the late primitive society, human beings lived there; Qin belonged to Jiujiang County; the fourth year of emperor Gaozu of the Han Dynasty (209bc) belonged to Huainan state; the sixth year of emperor Gaozu of the Han Dynasty (207bc) set up a county in Dushi, and Laicun belonged to Duxian.

In the Soviet period (January 1932), it was changed to Shengli County; in the 23rd year of the Republic of China (March 1934), it was restored to Yudu county.

After the founding of new China, in December 1954, Lai village was assigned to Ningdu County, and was set up as the 14th District of Ningdu county (Lai village district); in October 1958, the district was removed and the township was merged, and Lai village established Yuejin (Lai village) people's commune; in June 1984, the community was removed and the township was built, and it was changed to Lai village; in November 1995, the township was removed and the town was changed to Lai village.
