History and culture
Liyang Town has a long history. According to the records of Poyang County annals, "Liling county" was once set up here in the northern and Southern Dynasties. Liyang Town, the township Trade Center, is one of the four ancient towns in Jiangxi Province. It was an important ceramic producing area in the Song Dynasty, with 18 porcelain kilns. Now there are many kiln sites, containing a large number of porcelain objects. In July 2005, an archaeological team composed of the Palace Museum, Jiangxi Provincial Institute of cultural relics and Archaeology and Jingdezhen Municipal Institute of archaeology excavated the Liyang ancient kiln site for more than three months. The dragon kiln of the Yuan Dynasty and the gourd shaped kiln of the early Ming Dynasty shocked the archaeological circles and had very high archaeological value. They were reported to the state as major news by CCTV and China Heritage daily Internal and external reports. The legend of "Liyang Town first and Jingdezhen later" is well known to women and children in Jingdezhen. At the end of the Yuan Dynasty, Chen Youliang and Yu Guang led their troops to the site, where the ruins of the ancient city can be clearly identified. During the great revolution period, Fang Zhimin, a revolutionary martyr, came to Liyang secretly many times to direct the revolutionary struggle, leaving behind a good story of "two and a half guns fighting the revolution".
The Liyang ancient kiln site is located on the porcelain mountain and Duoyu mountain of Liyang village, Liyang Town, about 21 kilometers southwest of Jingdezhen City, adjacent to Liyang middle school, about 3 kilometers east of huangniushan, the residence of Liyang Town Government. The Changjiang River flows from east to west from the south of the kiln site to Poyang Lake, with Anhui Jiangxi railway in the South and 206 National Highway and Ji Guang Expressway in the East.
The two kilns are located on the south side of the low duijiu mountain on the North Bank of Changjiang River and the west slope of porcelain respectively. To the East is Duiju mountain, and to the northwest is porcelain mountain. Duijushan Longyao of Yuan Dynasty was built along the slope, with north-south trend, high in the north and low in the south. It is about 50 meters away from Changjiang River in the south, and about 20 meters from the East and west sides. There are residential houses. To the north is the hillside, which is the ancestral cemetery of local residents. The Ming Dynasty huluyao of porcelain mountain is east-west, high in the East and low in the West. It is about 300 meters away from Changjiang River in the south, with hills in the northeast and farmland in the southwest.
In addition to the ancient kilns, there are also ancient streets in Liyang ancient town
