Historical evolution
It got its name from the provincial-level cultural relic protection unit, Shengjin pagoda (built in the Tang Dynasty).
It was founded in 1954.
In 1960, it was renamed shengjinta commune.
In 1979, it was renamed suojinta street.

geographical position
Shengjinta street is named after the Millennium Monument shengjinta, which was built in Tang Tianyou years. It is located in the east of shengjinta street, Xihu District, Nanchang City, outside the gate of Jinxian, the original ancient city. It was built by yiseng in Tang Tianyou years (904-907 AD). It is said that when the pagoda was built, it was dug to get an iron letter with four turns of gold rope, three ancient Swords (engraved with the words "driving the wind", "calming the fire" and "descending the dragon") and a gold vase containing 300 pieces of relic. The rope gold pagoda got its name from it. With brick body, wooden overhanging eaves, eight sides and seven floors, the tower is the tallest ancient building in Nanchang City, including Qianfo temple, ancient stage, Confucian temple, Mingjiang garden, folk village, etc. Today, after expansion and maintenance, the park integrates culture, tourism, entertainment, shopping and leisure. The annual temple fair is a commercial gathering with snacks, antiques and tourism, with a daily flow of 100000 people.
