Gupi town

Gupi Town, a town under the jurisdiction of Xinfeng County, Ganzhou City, Jiangxi Province, is located in the east of Xinfeng County, adjacent to Daqiao town and Xintian town in the East, Anyuan County and Anxi town in the south, Datangbu town and Jiading town in the west, and Ganxian County in the north. Gupi is one of the four famous towns in South Jiangxi, which is called "two Gupi of toutangjiang". The total area of the town is 311 square kilometers, including 28355 mu of cultivated land, 227370 mu of mountainous area and 193140 mu of forest land. Historical evolution

It is named after Gupi polder. On the eve of liberation, it was Gupi township. At the beginning of liberation, it belonged to Gupi district. In 1956, it was called Gupi township. Gupi commune was established in 1958. Daqiao commune was merged in 1968 and separated out in 1979. Gupi township was changed in 1984 and Gupi town in 1988. In 1997, covering an area of 156 square kilometers, it has jurisdiction over 17 village committees and 302 villager groups in Gupi, Xinwu, Litian, chaao, fengshu, liming, Tianguang, Yangguang, Taiping she, Yucun, zhongkeng, dungao, Dawu, Zhenxuan, Shibei, Lijing and Baiji, with a total population of 42891.
