Puyuan town
Puyuan Town, belonging to Zhouning County, Ningde City, Fujian Province, is located in the middle of Zhouning County, bordering Xiaoyang Town, Fuan City in the East, Shicheng Town in the southeast, shengyinlou mountain in the southwest, Lidun Town, Yangyuan Township, Zhenghe County in the west, Siqiao Township and Chunchi town in the North. It is 21 kilometers wide from east to west and 5 kilometers long from north to south, with a total area of 105.04 square kilometers. The water area is 4 square kilometers, accounting for 3.8%. In late 2018, Puyuan had a registered residence population of 27016.
It is said that the family goose, who had been missing for a long time in Xiatun (today's xiacuowei Village), the ancestor of the Zheng family, suddenly brought back a group of goslings and thought that the place where the geese hatched was a treasure of geomantic omen. Therefore, she moved here and called it "hatdou", which is the current village site. After that, it was changed to "Yidou" and then to "Yiyuan". In the 1980s, because the word "Yi" was more remote, it was changed to "Pu", and the village was changed to "Puyuan", while "gadou" was still used as a common name. In March 1963, Siqiao commune was merged into Puyuan and set up Puyuan district. The district office moved from duanyuan to Puyuan. In August 1966, Siqiao was separated and Puyuan commune was established. In April 1984, Puyuan township was established. In 1993, the township was changed into a town and Puyuan town was established. As of June 2020, Puyuan town has a total of 17 administrative villages.
In 2018, there were 46 industrial enterprises in Puyuan Town, including 5 above scale and 15 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.
Historical evolution
From the Song Dynasty to the early Ming Dynasty, it was a part of the 16th and 17th capitals of dongyangli, Qingtian Township, Ningde county.
In June of 1935, zhoudun Lianbao and Longting Lianbao belonged to zhoudun special area respectively.
In 1942, it belonged to Shicheng Town in zhoudun special area.
In August 1945, it belonged to Shicheng Town, Zhouning county.
In April 1950, the first district of Zhouning county was set up.
In August 1958, it was renamed duanyuan, Longting and Ziyun; in September, it was renamed commune.
In January 1959, it was merged into duanyuan commune.
In March 1963, Siqiao commune was merged into Puyuan and set up Puyuan district. The district office moved from duanyuan to Puyuan.
In August 1966, Siqiao was separated and Puyuan commune was established.
In April 1984, Puyuan township was established.
In 1993, the township was changed into a town and Puyuan town was established.

In 2011, Puyuan town has 17 villager committees including Puyuan, duanyuan, Mengyuan, Shangyang, Xiping, Xikeng, Dongsheng, Suiyuan, Ziyun, Wushandi, Mengdi, Jindeng, Banling, Longting, longzhizhu, Wuyuan and Jiangyuan, and 165 villager groups. There are 61 natural villages.
As of June 2020, Puyuan town has a total of 17 administrative villages, and the people's government is stationed in Puyuan village.

Puyuan is located in the eastern foot of Jiufeng Mountain range, the terrain inclines from northwest to Southeast, long from east to west, narrow from north to south. There are 16 peaks above 1000 meters, the highest peak is longgangtou at an altitude of 1506 meters, and the lowest point is Jindeng village at an altitude of 565 meters. There are three types of landforms: middle mountain, low mountain and hill. Middle mountain accounts for 67.8% of the town's land area, while low mountain and hill account for 32.2%. A small Intermountain basin on the Bank of the Oriental River in the central and western regions, with an altitude of 895-927 meters.

The average annual rainfall is 1891.7mm, and the average annual rainfall days is 216 days. The extreme maximum annual rainfall was 3629.5 mm (1962) and the extreme minimum annual rainfall was 905.0 mm (1971). The rainfall is concentrated from March to September, with the most in May.
hydrology
Puyuan town belongs to Muyang River Basin. The main streams are Dongyang stream and Longting stream. The Longting River in the upper reaches of Muyang river is 13 kilometers long, passing through the village committee of Longting, Longting, Jiangyuan and Jindeng. The Dongyang river originates in the mountains to the west of Dongsheng Village. It is 10 kilometers long and flows into Qibu River, then Muyang river. The two rivers cover an area of 106 square kilometers. The total length of the river is 23 km, the density of the river network is 4.6 km / km2, and the runoff is 155 million cubic meters.

There are granite, tungsten molybdenum, peat and rare earth in Puyuan town. In the Ming Dynasty, the famous Baofeng silver mine was located in Guansi village.
natural disaster
On September 3, 1966, Typhoon No. 14 hit Wushandi village. The mountain torrent broke out, the menmen mountain (Shizishan) landslide and the debris flow flooded three houses, killing seven people. At 4:30 p.m. on August 21, 1979, Dazhai village was hit by a rainstorm, the Tianlong behind the village collapsed, 13 houses and a production team warehouse were in danger, and the government funded 20 households and 118 people to move to Shicheng village. In 2006, typhoon Sangmei affected 427 families and 1986 people, and the government issued 148200 yuan of relief funds and materials to help the victims.
