Huotong town
Huotong Town, located in the northwest of Jiaocheng District, Ningde City, Fujian Province, is 47.7 km away from Ningde City. It governs one neighborhood committee and 24 administrative villages. Huotong river runs through the whole territory. It has been an important transportation route for timber and bamboo in Pingnan and Zhouning counties since ancient times. Huayan Temple is located in Zhitishan, a key Buddhist temple in China. Huotong town has been listed as a demonstration town of agricultural science and education in Fujian Province, a pilot town of small town construction in Fujian Province, a town of folk culture and art in China, a famous historical and cultural town in China, and a national ecological town.
On January 9, 2019, Huotong town was selected as the "hometown of Chinese folk culture and art" in 2018-2020 by virtue of Ningde Huotong line lion.

Historical evolution
Huotong, an ancient place name. It is said that Huo Tong, also known as Huo Tong, lived in Huolin cave in the Zhou Dynasty.
According to the archaeological excavation of the lupinggang site along the huotongxi River, there were traces of human activities in the late Paleolithic period at least 10000 years ago. The excavation of the sites of lupinggang, Shanxia and wayaogang has unearthed a number of stone tools, pottery, jade and bronzes. It is also confirmed that people settled here about 4000 years ago, and settlements have been formed from 1600 BC to 221 BC (Shang and Zhou dynasties). From 221 B.C. to 907 A.D. (from Qin Dynasty to the end of Tang Dynasty), the culture of Central Plains was continuously introduced. According to the world, Huo Tong, an immortal, lived in Huotong mountain in the past. In 747 A.D. (the sixth year of Tang Tianbao), Huotong mountain was changed to Huotong mountain. Gradually formed villages. Ad 960-1276 (Song Dynasty), Ningde set up three townships and six li, here set up Huoshan Township, jurisdiction of shuifuli, huotongli. From 1368 to 1644 (Ming Dynasty), Huotong town contains 12 capitals, 13 capitals, 11 capitals and 19 capitals. 1644-1911 (Qing Dynasty). Huotong River, one of the eight major water systems in Fujian Province, is the only non polluted mother river, which originates from Jiufeng Mountain. Its main stream is 126 km, with a drainage area of 2244 square kilometers. Its annual average runoff is 2.555 billion cubic meters, with an average flow of 81 cubic meters per second. Huotong river is 25 kilometers long in the main stream of the town. Huotong river flows into qiankengli village through Kengtou River, Xiancun River and Shengmen river through Wuchang village, pipadong river through Xingxian village, Xiaoshi River and dashikeng river through Fengqiao village, Hutou river through jingwenhu village, kengliman river near huomen palace and Anle river near Yiban village.
Huotongxi runs through the whole town from west to East. Its water is pure, the wind is clear, the mountains are close to the forest, the vision is broad, extraordinary, especially Yangshuo in Guilin; its mountains are alive, the mountains are scattered orderly, layers of progressive, winding, laojunyan, Shuangli Chaotian, shizifeng, sleeping beauty, etc.; its forest is quiet, Baibu zhiqinglin, Yiban ecological botanical garden, a variety of tree species, strange shape, the largest tree age of more than 1400 years, the highest of 40 years It takes seven or eight encircles to reach the maximum perimeter. It is suitable for the production of various crops. It is an important tea and fruit production base in Jiaocheng District of Ningde City. Huotong town is a big agricultural town in Jiaocheng District, with 20457 mu of cultivated land (15796 mu of paddy field) and 190115 mu of mountainous area (147058 mu of forest).

In 1958, Badu Huotong highway was opened to traffic. In 2007, Ningping class II Highway passed through Huotong town. The road mileage of the whole town is 88 km, and all administrative villages are connected with roads, including 45 km of cement surface. There are 1 station, 1 parking lot, more than 500 motor vehicles and 3 ferries. River transportation can reach Badu to the sea.
The opening of the second-class highway leading to Pingnan, the formation of Huotong jiezhiti and Hubei Ring Road, and the existing Zhouning highway running through the town will build a half-hour tourist traffic circle with Huotong as the center, leading to Zhiti, naluo, Pingnan yuanyangxi, Zhouning Jiulongji, etc.
