Weitian town is located in the northeast of Songxi County, 32 kilometers away from the county. It has 19 administrative villages, 82 natural villages and 165 villager groups.

Historical evolution

Weitian commune was established in 1959, Weitian district was changed in 1961, the commune was restored in 1966, the township was changed in 1984, and the town was established in 1994. In 1997, it governed 19 village committees in Weitian, Wucun, Xiwei, Yuanyuan, Zhulin, Shankeng, Zhuxian, Muqiu, Xiancha, Shanzhen, Dongbian, pandun, Dutou, Xiangxi, Shangtang, Dongkeng, Jukou, Jiaoqi and xiaohuangsha.
