Lefeng town

Lefeng town is located in the northeast of Nan'an City, bordering Luojiang District of Quanzhou City in the East, Luodong town and Xiangyang Township in the southwest and northwest respectively, and Xianyou County in the north. The town government is located in neiyang of Luzhong village. County Road X332 (Meixian highway) runs through the whole territory, and county road x334 starts from the town.

Lefeng town is a typical hilly area with abundant mountain resources and abundant pyrophyllite deposits. It has jurisdiction over eight administrative villages.

In 2017, the administrative area was 6768 hectares, with 33078 permanent residents.

Administrative evolution

The name of Lefeng town comes from "Leshan". It is said that Li Yuanpu, a famous scholar in the middle of Jiangxi Province in the late Tang Dynasty, lived in seclusion in this mountain. Someone asked him why he lived in seclusion. Li replied, "benevolent people like Leshan." this is the origin of the name of Leshan. With the change of history, before the construction of Lefeng, the area near the town government was called "Lefeng".

In Tang Dynasty, it was named "furnace". Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties were called seven capitals and eight capitals. Lu Nei township was set up in the 17th year of the Republic of China, and it was divided into three districts and two districts successively in the 35th year of the Republic of China. In the 35th year of the Republic of China, Yuefeng township was established.

In 1961, it was transferred to Lefeng commune under the jurisdiction of Meishan district. It was incorporated into Luodong commune in 1965.

In 1999, Lefeng town was set up in Luodong Town, which has jurisdiction over 8 administrative villages, including Lushan village, Hunei village, Luxing village, Fushan Village, Feiyun village, tanbian village, Houyang village and Luzhong village.

economic construction

The economy is dominated by handicraft industry. There are more than 30 enterprises in the town, mainly processing Knitwear and slate. The annual industrial output value has reached nearly 70 million yuan. Well known enterprises include Xinyuan weaving factory and Zhongyu knitting factory. The town runs two enterprises, among which Huaxi power station generates 4.2 million kilowatts a year. Yinshan forest farm has a forest area of more than 10000 mu, more than 1000 mu of fruit trees, famous fruits such as citrus, loquat, Myrica rubra, olive and nearly 1000 mu of fast-growing and high-yield Eucalyptus urophylla forest. It has initially built a comprehensive forest farm with good fruits in four seasons. There are beautiful scenery in the territory, including the city level management unit of bamboo pagoda reservoir and the "Ming Ying yuan" built by Mr. Pan Mingji. Both of them and Yinshan Forest Farm constitute a beautiful landscape of Lefeng eco-tourism.

Science, education, culture and health

Lefeng education and social undertakings are booming. There is a middle school, Lucun middle school (now renamed Lefeng middle school) and 10 primary schools in the town, with complete educational facilities. Cultural facilities continue to improve, there are town level cultural center, set leisure, entertainment, fitness in one, the Federation of overseas Chinese Center building, cable TV station, people's cultural life is constantly enriched. At present, there is a town level hospital (Lefeng health center), with relatively complete medical equipment and village level health centers all over the villages, providing better medical security for the masses.

Folk customs

In Singapore, there is a group of descendants of immigrants from Lufeng town. There is also a Hengshan temple that inherits the incense of pan in the furnace. Hengshan temple, located in Yishun Town, Singapore, celebrates the birthday of Pan Jixun Bao, the "Pan Fu Da Ren", on September 27 of the lunar calendar every year.

Local celebrities

Most of the surnames are pan, accounting for more than 80%, followed by Huang, mainly in Luxing village and tanbian village, accounting for about 15%, with the exception of a small number of surnames such as Wu, she, Xu, Lin and Xie, accounting for less than 5%.

Lefeng has a simple and honest folk custom, beautiful scenery and outstanding people. It has more than 30000 overseas Chinese relatives. A group of well-known people have been engaged in business and politics at home and abroad. Among them are pan Shou, Singapore's "national treasure", a famous calligrapher, poet and educator; pan Yaoming, general manager of Hong Kong Ming Pao and executive chairman of Hong Kong Writers' Association; pan Yaoming, professor and doctoral supervisor of Chinese Department of Fudan University Pan Xulan, former director of Taiwan Hong Kong Culture Research Institute of Fudan University; pan Mingji, an oncologist with high reputation in China's medical field; pan Yalong, director and professor of Taiwan Hong Kong and overseas Chinese literature research center of Jinan University and President of International Confucian Business Association; and pan Xiangli, a new and cutting-edge female writer living in Shanghai.
