Moyuan township is located in the southeast of Jiangle County, where the township government is located. Moyuan village is 15 kilometers away from the county. Fu Yin Expressway and provincial highway Jintai line run through the territory. In 2005, the township had 8 village committees and 41 villager groups.

The proven mineral deposits include iron, fluorite, muscovite, marble, etc. the total savings of the township is about 500 million tons. There are many kinds of mineral resources with high quality and easy mining, and most of them are in the state of undeveloped or preliminary mining. The theoretical reserve of hydropower resources is 96000 kW, of which 35000 kW can be developed.
The township has 11300 mu of arable land, including 10700 mu of paddy field; 142500 mu of forest land, including 117800 mu of woodland, and rare tree species such as Phoebe and camphor. The timber volume is 552000 cubic meters, and the number of bamboo stands is 7277000, with the forest coverage rate of 85.3%. Climate and environment
Xuefeng mountain is located in the southeast of the township, with an altitude of 1299 meters. It is the highest peak in the territory. Agricultural situation
In 1991, the total agricultural output value of the township was 19.47 million yuan, and the per capita net income of farmers was 1017 yuan. Grain crops and cash crops were planted in 18664 Mu and 6147 Mu respectively. Since 1992, the structure of agricultural industry has been adjusted year by year, the area of grain planting has been reduced, the cultivation of edible fungi (Lentinus edodes and Dictyophora indusiae) has been promoted, sericulture and fruit trees have been introduced, and the breeding industry has been vigorously developed. In the three years to 1993, Wenzhou tangerine, Fuzhou tangerine, navel orange and Huanghua pear were introduced. In the four years to 1994, Dicun duck base and Huguan fish base were established one after another. In 1995, villagers in Huguan and Dicun introduced 7500 Peking ducks, 800 Liancheng white ducks and 450 Hetian chickens. In 1996, due to a sharp drop in cocoon prices, sericulture in the township stopped. In 1991, there were 324 enterprises in the township, including 13 bamboo products processing enterprises, 1741 employees and a total output value of 33.41 million yuan. Due to the deforestation of wood in the township, a large number of wood resources have been reduced, and more than a dozen wood products factories have closed down one after another. In 1993, Yinhua paper mill carried out technical transformation and changed its name to Yongli paper mill. The township government and Fujian building materials company jointly invested 16 million yuan to build Minle cement plant, with an annual output of 100000 tons of cement and an output value of 15 million yuan. In 1999, 1.2 million yuan was introduced to build Shunyuan lime plant, with an annual output of 480000 tons of lime and an output value of 7 million yuan. In 2000, Minle cement plant was renamed yongshida cement plant. From 2000 to 2005, Wufang Caofang power station, pokengshangling power station, Moyuan Sanyuan power station, Moyuan Caoxi power station and Guiyang Power Station were successively built, with a total installed capacity of 2200KW. In 2002, 4.6 million yuan was introduced to establish the red sun bamboo flooring factory with an annual output value of 12 million yuan. Due to poor management, the factory closed down in 2004. In 2005, there were 186 enterprises with 1500 employees in the township, with a total output value of 178.5 million yuan and profits and taxes of 9.7 million yuan. The cement, lime, bamboo flooring and other products produced are mainly sold inside and outside the province, and the canned water bamboo shoots are exported to Japan. There are 13 small hydropower stations in the township, with a total installed capacity of 3700 kW and an annual generating capacity of 26 million kwh.

In 1991, Moyuan school district had 5 teaching classes with 172 students, 9 primary schools with 666 students, 20 kindergarten classes with 185 children, and 88 teaching staff. In 1997, primary compulsory education in the township passed the provincial government's "two bases" (basically popularizing nine-year compulsory education and basically eliminating illiteracy among young and middle-aged people). In 1998, a new teaching building of junior high school in Moyuan school district was built, with a construction area of 1600 square meters. In 2001, four primary schools with poor school running conditions, such as Dafang, Zhangyuan, Wufang and Shangyang, were merged, and students transferred to Central Primary School or nearby primary schools. In September 2003, Moyuan school district was renamed as Moyuan central school.
