tourist resources
SONGTAN scenic spot is one of the best photography spots in Huangshan City and the largest hometown of Shuikou forest in China. The ancient Shuikou forest, covering an area of more than 140 mu, is like a green barrier, protecting the whole village from generation to generation. The whole Fengshui forest is a rare ancient "natural arboretum" with dense shade and airtight, towering ancient trees and magnificent scenery. In 2004, Huangshan Publishing House published "five thousand villages in Huizhou", there is a description of "old trees in deep mountains see pine pools". SONGTAN people believe that Fengshui forest plays the role of "storing wind and getting water" and protecting "Qi", so it is forbidden to cut down and destroy. Fengshui forest has always been managed by Dai's ancestral hall. Every year, notices are issued to forbid people to carry knives and axes into the forest. Only the lonely and widowed old people are allowed to pick up the dead wood in the forest by hand, and those who violate the rules will be punished according to the clan rules. It has been 14 generations since the Dai family moved to SONGTAN village in Jilai. The long history of management and protection and the unique natural conditions have formed such a spectacular ancient tree community. There are many precious tall ancient trees in the forest. Among them, more than 20 trees are more than 20 meters high, including fragrant fruit tree, rough leaf tree, jackal bark tree, brush tree, Tilia amurensis, Liquidambar formosana, masson pine, etc. there are many kinds of tree species, among which four big trees are eye-catching. It is recorded in the book of ancient and famous trees in Anhui Province: a big fragrant fruit tree, 23 meters high, 1.35 meters in chest circumference, 63.6 square meters in projection area, looks like a giant umbrella that has been stretched open. After more than 300 years of mulberry, it is still lush. Emmenopterys henryi has the ability of "root and tiller cluster", and often has the phenomenon of "single tree forest". 10 meters away from this Emmenopterys henryi, there are two root and tiller trees, with the height of 18 meters and the diameter at breast height of 20 cm. In addition, there is a Sassafras tree and a Betula luminifera. The former is nearly 30 meters high. Its trunk is bright and clean, round and full, and almost the same thickness from top to bottom. Its age is more than 100 years. The latter is 25 meters high and 2 meters in chest circumference. It grows on the edge of the forest with luxuriant branches and leaves. There is also an old Ailanthus altissima with a height of 31 meters, a chest circumference of 1.8 meters, a height of 16 meters under the branches and a crown width of 10 × 10 meters. Although the tree is old, it is still luxuriant and has "solitary roots and stands upright through Hongmeng". Ailanthus altissima is a deciduous tree with wide adaptability. It was called "Ailanthus altissima" in ancient times, and it was recorded as early as Shanhaijing. The shape of the tree is especially beautiful in winter. On the long branches, countless twigs gather together on the crown, forming a mushroom shaped oval tree shape. No matter in the early frost or the snow, there is a sense of beauty in the ancient world. SONGTAN Fengshui forest, which has survived for several generations, is still flourishing, which is inseparable from the careful protection of the Dai people. (the picture shows Shuikou forest in SONGTAN, which is one of the ten scenic spots in SONGTAN. See Baidu Encyclopedia "SONGTAN" for details. In July 2010, SONGTAN was listed as one of the "top 100 photography spots" in Huangshan City due to the beautiful scenery of ancient wood forest.
