Kengkou Township
Kengkou township is located about 18 kilometers southeast of Shexian City, on the Bank of Xin'an River, and the south Shenzhen highway runs through the territory. With a total area of 42.96 square kilometers, it borders Zhangtan village in Shendu town in the East, Xiaozhou in the south, Xiongcun Township in the West and nanyuankou in Huicheng town in the north.

The township has a total of 7 village committees, 50 villager groups and 55 natural villages with a population of 10874 (2017), including Dong, Susu and Lahu ethnic minorities. With convenient transportation and information, the township has basically realized "three links". Three villages in the township are on the south Shenzhen highway. The township is rich in water resources, and the famous Meitan dam is located in the township. Zhang Shu, the people's musician, was born in rouchuan, Xueyuan village. His representative works include "Hongbo Qu". Fang Chunfu's house (Ming Dynasty) in yikeng village is listed as a provincial cultural relic protection unit. Rouchuan memorial archway group (chastity archway) is listed as a county-level cultural relic protection unit.
Historical evolution
From Tang Dynasty to Qing Dynasty, it belonged to Xiaonv Township, and from Yuan Dynasty to Qing Dynasty, it belonged to 36 capitals. Xueyang town was established in 1941. In August of the Republic of China, xueyang and Sanyi were merged into Sanyang Township, which was under the jurisdiction of Wangcun district. In August 1952, there were some townships, such as Yitan, yikeng, Jintan, xuekengkou, jiajiawu, and Xueshi, under the jurisdiction of Xueyang district. In December 1955, it was merged into xuekengkou Township and Liwang Village District. In March 1958, it was transferred to Chengguan District, and in October, it was transferred to Zhangtan commune. In February 1959, it was divided into Jintan, Etan, Zhangtan and other administrative areas. In 1961, Kengkou commune was established, which was subordinate to Chengguan District. In 1983, the commune was transformed into a township. In 2005, it has jurisdiction over 15 administrative villages, 55 natural villages, 127 villager groups, 4533 households and 12199 people. Among them, there are 11626 people from 4424 agricultural households, mainly Han nationality, and 62 people from Hui, Miao, Buyi, Susu, Dong, Lahu, WA, Bai and Pumi.
Geography and climate
Kengkou township is located on the Bank of Xin'an River, 18 kilometers southeast of Shexian county. The average altitude is 300 meters, and the highest point, Zhangling temple, is 690 meters high. Xin'an River flows through the territory, belonging to the Qiantang River water system. The territory has a mild climate, abundant rainfall, four distinct seasons, rich products, an average annual temperature of 16 ℃, an average annual rainfall of 1750 mm, a frost free period of 245 days, and the soil is mostly yellow red from phyllite Soil.

To strengthen industry and commerce, a trade street has been built in Kengkou Dayuan, where the township is located. There are more than 120 industrial and commercial households.
