Liudu Town, a town under the jurisdiction of Wuwei City in Anhui Province, is located in the southwest of Wuwei City, across the Yangtze River from Tongling City. It is a typical water town along the river with water network and fertile soil. The town governs 20 villages and 2 neighborhood committees, with a land area of 77.8 square kilometers (2017), a cultivated land area of 33300 mu, a water surface area of 12000 mu, a population of 36571 (2017), and a total industrial and agricultural output value of 884 million yuan in 2011.
Historical evolution
It was Liudu Township in 1949, changed to commune in 1958, changed to township in 1983 and changed to town in 1987. In 1996, it covers an area of 70 square kilometers and has a population of 40000. It has jurisdiction over nine administrative villages including agriculture and forestry, Aiguo, Qingfeng, Yanhe, Chongxing, Huayuan, Jiushan, Nanhe and Qiucheng, and two neighborhood committees including Liudu and Fenghuangjing.
