Niubu Town, a town under the jurisdiction of Wuwei City in Anhui Province, is located on the North Bank of Wanjiang River and in the southwest of Wuwei city. It is about 50 kilometers away from Wucheng, 38 kilometers away from Tongling and 42 kilometers away from Lujiang city.

Niubu town is rich in products, known as the "land of fish and rice", rich in rice, oil, bamboo, piglets and other agricultural and sideline products. Niubu is rich in natural resources. There are more than 10 kinds of underground metal and non-metal deposits, especially coal, iron ore, copper, marble, limestone and granite, which have high mining value. There are many rare wild animals in the territory, among which wild boar, hare, jackal, hedgehog, pheasant, duck, goose, egret and owl are the most common. There are also fish, crabs, turtles, shrimps and other aquatic products growing naturally in Zhusi lake, which are tender, delicious and pollution-free.
Zhusi lake is the largest natural freshwater lake in Wuwei County, with a total water area of more than 16000 mu. Ancient times
As for the history of the more distant period, further research is needed. Until the beginning of Hongwu in Ming Dynasty, Wuwei County was abolished and Wuwei Prefecture was established. The prefecture has 8 townships and 47 households. In the middle of Ming Dynasty, two Li were added inside and outside the city, a total of 49 Li (9 li in Chengguan, 6 Li in Wuwei Township, 7 Li in Taiping Township, 4 li in Kaicheng Town, 3 li in Xiangan Township, 5 li in Tongcheng Township, 5 li in Zhouxing Township, 7 Li in Nanxiang Township, and 3 li in BEIXIANG township). Nanxiang 7 Li should be the original Niubu. In the early Qing Dynasty, BEIXIANG was increased from 3 li to 7 Li, and other names and the number of Xiang and Li still follow the old system. In the 24th year of Jiaqing (1819) and the 30th year of Guangxu (1904), Wuwei Prefecture had 38 market towns such as Cangtou, Shijian, Kaicheng, Xiang'an, Niubu and Huihe.
The Republic of China, the Anti Japanese War and the liberation war
In 1929, the county was divided into 9 natural areas, 258 townships and 32 towns. Soon, it was changed to 9 districts and 42 flood seasons. In 2001, the county changed to the Baojia system, with 9 districts, 1131 Baojia and 11093 Baojia. In the 24th year of the Republic of China, the joint insurance system was changed. The county was divided into 9 districts, 110 joint insurance and 1115 joint insurance. In the 25th year of the Republic of China, the system of District, township (town), security and first class was implemented. The county is divided into four districts, namely Hongqiao District, Sanguandian District, Kaicheng district and HuLong District, with a total of 69 townships (towns) and 792 Baotou districts. In 1941, the Anti Japanese democratic government of Wuwei County was established in three palaces (later moved to pailou). Except for one district (Wucheng), Wuwei County has jurisdiction over 9 districts, 86 townships, 909 guarantors and 830000 people. District 2: YAOGOU and Hongqiao; District 3: Sangong and Dougou; District 4: Shijian; District 5: Niubu; District 6: Kaicheng; District 7: Shangli; District 8: Tanggou; in March of the 31st year of the Republic of China (1942), Tongdong guerrillas cooperated with the 55th regiment of the 7th division to attack the Kuomintang county government stationed in chengjiayuan of Niubu. He Guoqiang, the head of the county, fled in a panic and his guard troops collapsed . In June 1945, Wanjiang administrative office set up Wunan administrative office in Wuwei Nanxiang, and Wuwei was restored in the same year. In January 1947, Liu Rong (also known as Hu Zhimin) was ordered to lead the Ministry (about 50 people) from Dabie Mountain to Wuwei southwest Township, and then the democratic government of Hudong county was established. In May 1948, the third field army of the people's Liberation Army (PLA) crossed the Yangtze River and launched into the Chaowu area. On May 4, Dai Rulan, the younger brother of Dai Anlan, the former patriotic general and teacher of the Kuomintang, contacted the Hudong county Party committee of the Communist Party of China and asked to participate in the revolutionary work. Hudong county Party committee instructed him to continue to serve as the director of the Kuomintang's Niubu district joint defense area to cover the activities of CPC members. In September, according to the command of the Fourth Army, Dai Rulan led his 400 troops to Huangcheng. In March 1949, the 24th, 25th and 27th armies of the third field army of the Chinese people's Liberation Army assembled in Wuwei County to prepare for the battle of crossing the Yangtze River.
From April 1 to 14, the 71st division of the 24th army of the Chinese people's Liberation Army, with the cooperation of the Linjiang brigade and the Wunan brigade, successively conquered the Kuomintang River defense strongholds of Liudu, Tuqiao, YAOGOU, Wuzhou, taiyangzhou, Nicha, Jiaoji, etc., thus achieving the liberation of the whole territory. In July, the leading Party and government organs of Wuwei, Wunan, Hudong and Linjiang counties successively moved to Wucheng office. On the 16th, a unified CPC Wuwei County Committee and Wuwei County government were established. Zhang Shiping, Secretary of the county Party committee, and Wang Zixuan, head of the county. Under the jurisdiction of Wucheng, Heba, Tanggou, Shijian, Yanqiao, Kaicheng, Shushan, Niubu, Nicha nine districts and Xiangan directly under the town, 119 townships; under the jurisdiction of the township administrative villages, natural villages. Wuwei County is subordinate to Chaohu District in Northern Anhui.
In July of the 38th year of the Republic of China, Wuwei County was divided into nine districts, one directly subordinate town and 109 townships (towns). Wucheng District governs 4 towns, Heba District governs 14 townships, Tanggou District governs 14 townships and Tanggou Town, YAOGOU District governs 13 townships, Shijian District governs 14 townships and 2 towns of Huangluo and Shijian, Yanqiao District governs 12 townships and Yanqiao Town, Shushan District governs 10 townships, Niubu District governs 11 townships, and Kaicheng District governs 12 townships (towns).
1949 to present

After the founding of the people's Republic of China, there were 15 districts and 130 townships (towns) in the county in 1950. In 1951, there were 15 districts and 178 townships (towns). In 1951, 53 townships (towns) were added, including 231 townships (towns). In 1952, 64 townships (towns) were added, with 295 townships (towns) in the county. In 1955, 22 districts of the county were merged into 12 districts, and 295 townships (towns) were adjusted accordingly. In 1956, 295 townships (towns) were merged into 97 townships (towns) directly under Baimao. In 1957, there were 10 districts, 2 towns directly under the county, 1 Township directly under the county and 74 townships (towns). In 1958, 12 district level administrative organs were abolished, and 74 townships (towns) and 3 townships (towns) under the county were merged into 31 people's communes. In 1961, the county was divided into 11 districts, 2 towns and 46 people's communes. In 1971, the county was divided into 10 districts, 2 towns directly under the county and 72 communes. In 1982, there were 59 townships and 13 township level towns in the county, except for 3 towns directly under the county. In 1988, there were 10 districts, 3 towns directly under the county, 13 towns under the district and 61 townships. The three towns are Wucheng (three townships of daiguanzhen, tanshu and Fenghe), Xiangan town and Erba town (two townships of Jiaoji and Chang'an). The 10 districts are Yanqiao district with 5 townships and 1 town, Kaicheng district with 7 townships and 1 town, Shushan district with 7 townships and 1 town, Niubu district with 6 townships and 2 towns, Shijian district with 4 townships and 3 towns, Xiang'an District with 6 townships and 1 town, Dougou district with 4 townships and 2 towns, Nicha district with 4 townships and 2 towns, Baimao district with 6 townships and 1 town, Tanggou district with 4 townships and 1 town.
By the end of 2005, Wuwei County had 19 towns including Wucheng Town, Xiangan Town, Erba Town, Shushan town, Niubu town and Gaogou Town, and 4 townships including Hemao township.
In October 2016, shilidun township was abolished and shilidun town was established, and the town government was still stationed in shilidun community (the former resident of shilidun township government); Hemao township was abolished and Hemao town was established, and the town government was still stationed in Hemao community (the former resident of Hemao township government). So far, Wuwei County has jurisdiction over 18 towns and 2 townships.
Niubu
Niubu Town, where the town government is located, was built in the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty. It has a long-standing reputation as a traditional commercial port and a rural trade fair on the third, sixth and ninth day of the lunar calendar. It radiates more than 10 towns in three counties and one city around. After the reform and opening up, with the adjustment of rural industrial structure and the development of commodity economy, township enterprises include glass fiber factory, small coal kiln, standard component factory, machinery repair factory, rotary kiln factory, rice processing factory, oil mill, etc., and individual traders are all over the town. This ancient town is full of new vigor and vitality. Not only the market trade is booming, but also the scale of the town is expanding. Family production of wooden boxes is also a major feature of the town. There are more than 530 households producing wooden boxes in the town, and more than 200000 wooden boxes are sold to Tibet and coastal provinces every year. The town is also a distribution center of Moso bamboo, Yuanzhu and its products in the mountainous area.
