History: according to Jiaxing county annals, "it is said that during the Five Dynasties of Wu and Yue, there was a Zhong clan living here, so it was named Zhongxi, also known as Zhongdai.". In song, yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties, it was one of the four towns in Jiaxing county. It enjoys the reputation of "land of fish and rice, silk house" and "Jinping Lake".

The total output value of the whole street is 1.425 billion yuan, including 38.33 million yuan for the primary industry, 1.310 billion yuan for the secondary industry and 76.49 million yuan for the tertiary industry. The industrial economy maintained a sustained and rapid growth. The whole street has formed key industries such as optical and electrical, textile, clothing, luggage, furniture, paper and so on, and the total industrial economic output and quality have been significantly improved. The total industrial output value of all street enterprises (including development zones, the same below) reached 7.133 billion yuan, of which 1.460 billion yuan was achieved by street enterprises; the sales revenue of all street enterprises reached 6.943 billion yuan, of which 1.417 billion yuan was achieved by street enterprises, an increase of 50%; the total profits and taxes of all street enterprises reached 327 million yuan, of which 76.5 million yuan was achieved by street enterprises, an increase of 37%; and The industrial added value of street enterprises reached 1.334 billion yuan, of which 283 million yuan, an increase of 64.96%. The construction of agricultural parks and pollution-free agricultural product bases has achieved remarkable results, forming four agricultural characteristic industries, namely vegetable industry, edible fungus industry, melon and fruit industry and flower and seedling industry. There are 2 modern agricultural parks and 6 pollution-free agricultural product bases in the whole street, including 2 provincial pollution-free agricultural product bases, 1 provincial pollution-free agricultural product producing area and 2 municipal pollution-free agricultural product bases. We pay attention to the brand construction of agricultural products, and have owned such brand agricultural products as "xingzhongdai" honey pear, "jingzhongyuan" grape, "Mingyue" watermelon, "shuaifeng" mushroom, etc. Agricultural leading enterprises are growing, with 5 agricultural leading enterprises above Pinghu city level, of which 3 have won the title of agricultural leading enterprises in Jiaxing City. Speed up agricultural infrastructure construction, land consolidation and comprehensive agricultural development to achieve actual results. Up to now, the accumulated land consolidation and comprehensive agricultural development area of the whole street is nearly 49300 mu, and 55300 mu of standard farmland has been built, with a total investment of more than 45 million yuan. Among them, the central kindergarten and Shaoyuan kindergarten have reached the municipal level 2 kindergartens. By the end of 2004, the endowment insurance for employees will be fully covered, and the overall planning of serious illness in rural cooperative medical system will reach 95.67%. Family planning work has been further strengthened. By improving the service level, strengthening the comprehensive management of family planning, and strictly administering according to law, the national policy of family planning has been further implemented. From January to October, 281 people were born in the whole street, and the family planning rate reached 98.93%. We earnestly carried out the work of poverty alleviation and relief, visited 362 families with special care and difficulties, and by the end of October, the streets had included 220 families and 400 people with low social security. We attached great importance to the work of people's armed forces and conscription, implemented the policy of resettlement and pension, and made great adjustments to improve it. 21 people were recruited into the army. Cultural and sports undertakings are developing rapidly, striving to create five villages with cultural characteristics, one community with cultural characteristics and two households with cultural characteristics, actively organizing and carrying out various cultural activities, and striving to create Jiaxing Municipal "Pearl of East China Sea Culture" project within this year.
