Wang Fuxiang

Wangfu township is located in the northwest of Chun'an County, Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province, connecting pingmen Township in the East, Songcun Township in the south, Weiping town and Shexian County in Anhui Province in the west, Lin'an District in Hangzhou City in the north, 60 km away from Qiandaohu Town, Chun'an County, covering an area of 168 square kilometers. Wangfu township has 44 administrative villages and 111 natural villages with a total population of 17610 (2017).

Regional overview

Wangfu township is under the jurisdiction of Chun'an County, Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province. Wangfu township is the earliest seat and birthplace of the CPC Chun'an County Committee. In April 1935, the first meeting of the former Chun'an County Committee was held in shibanan, Banqiao Village. In 1986, it was approved as an old revolutionary base area by Hangzhou municipal government. Wangfu township has been handed down the ancient folk embroidery art of Shanyue ancestors, Shanyue hemp embroidery, also known as Badu hemp embroidery. It uses ramie or hemp fiber to weave into hemp cloth on traditional wood weaving machine, and then uses hemp thread to pick out hundreds of patterns on the cloth, such as birds in the morning, lions rolling ball, four seasons with joy and so on. Shanyue Ma embroidery was highly praised by Wang Chaowen, a famous aesthete, and Zhong Jingwen, a scholar of folk culture.

Historical evolution

Wang Fu has a long history, rich cultural heritage. It belonged to Zhangjun in Qin Dynasty, Shexian in Danyang County in Western Han Dynasty, and Shixin County in Xindu County in Three Kingdoms period. In the Southern Song Dynasty, the county was named Chun'an, to which Wang Fu has always belonged. It was Wangfu Township in the 25th year of the Republic of China. In 1956, it was merged into Wangfu township. In 1958, it belonged to Wangfu management area of Tangcun commune. In 1961, it was divided into Wangfu commune. In 1982, it merged the four brigades of Yinkeng, Mashan, yinwu and Caojiawu of the former Yanjia commune with seven brigades of wangcunbu under the former Wangfu commune to form Wangfu commune. In 1984, it was renamed Wangfu township. In 1992, Zhengzhong township was merged into Wangfu commune Township, township site moved from Wangfu village to Zhengzhong village. In August 2006, Yan's hometown was merged into Wangfu Township, and the township government was stationed in Zhengzhong village. In May 2019, the people's Government of Wangfu Township moved from Zhengzhong village to shangxian'an area of Wangfu village.

Wangfu township is located in the mountainous area of Western Zhejiang. The territory is surrounded by mountains with undulating peaks, with an altitude of 700 to 1200 meters. The highest peak of the township is located in the northwest and Anhui Province at the junction of the juchuanjian, 1477 meters above sea level. Yunyuan river originates from the east foot of jiechuanjian, passes through Wenjia, Dashe, Mashan, wangcunbu, Zhengzhong, Liudian and other villages from north to south, flows through Songcun Township and flows into Qiandao Lake from south. Because Chongba is his nickname, Zhu is not happy in his heart.
