Mengxingzhuang town

Mengxingzhuang town is under the jurisdiction of Guannan County in Jiangsu Province. It is located in the northwest of Guannan county. It is connected with Xin'an town and Zhangdian town in the East, Liji town in the south, Tanggou town and Liheng town in Shuyang County in the west, Xinyi River in the north, Nangang town and Shizhuang Street in Guanyun County across the river. The territory is flat, convenient transportation, Ning Lian highway and 236 provincial road run through the north and south, chaimi River and Liutang river run through the East and West. Rich in poplar, Tung, known as northern Jiangsu "Tree Town" reputation.

Mengxingzhuang town has a total area of 78.09 square kilometers (2017), with 54000 mu of arable land. It has 20 administrative villages, 168 villager groups and 49031 people (2017).

Historical evolution

In ancient times, mengxingzhuang belonged to the territory of ancient Xuzhou;

During the Qin Dynasty, it belonged to Qu county;

In the early Western Han Dynasty, the territory still belonged to Qu county; in the fourth year of Taichu (101 BC), Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty granted Li Guangli the title of Marquis of Haixi, and mengxingzhuang and its surrounding areas were its fiefdoms; in 90 BC, Li Guangli surrendered to Xiongnu, and Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty abolished his title and changed his original fiefdoms to Haixi County, which belonged to Guangling County; this subordination relationship lasted until the Western Jin Dynasty.

During the Sixteen States period of the Eastern Jin Dynasty, the organizational system of Haixi county was abolished, and the territory was subordinate to Qu county.

During the period of Zhou state in the northern and Southern Dynasties, it belonged to Qushan county and Qushan county.

In kaihuang period of Sui Dynasty, Qushan county was changed into Donghai County;

In the Southern Song Dynasty, it belonged to Qushan County, Haizhou, on the East Road of Shandong Province;

Yuan Dynasty belonged to Qushan County, Haining Prefecture, huaidong Road, Jiangbei Province, Henan Province;

During the Ming Dynasty and Qing Dynasty, it belonged to Haizhou;

In the first year of the Republic of China (1912), Haizhou was divided into Donghai County and Guanyun County, belonging to Guanyun County, Xiehe city and the Fifth District of Shuyang County, belonging to xuhaidao, Jiangsu Province;

In 1930, the national government implemented the system of districts and townships, which belonged to the third district of Guanyun county;

In 1941, the Guandong office was set up to meet the needs of the Anti Japanese war. It belonged to Guandong office in China and was withdrawn after the victory of the Anti Japanese war in 1941.

After the founding of new China in 1949, it belonged to Shuhong District of Guanyun county;

In 1957, Shuhong district was withdrawn and merged into three townships, including Haiting township;

On March 1, 1958, Haiting township was assigned to the newly established Guannan county. In September of the same year, the people's commune movement began, and Haiting township was renamed Haiting people's commune.

In February 1960, Haiting people's commune was renamed Xingzhuang people's commune;

In May 1981, Xingzhuang commune was changed into mengxingzhuang people's commune;

In 1983, the people's communization movement ended and mengxingzhuang people's commune was renamed mengxingzhuang township;

On April 2, 2003, mengxingzhuang Township and baizao Township were abolished, and the former two townships were merged to establish a new mengxingzhuang town.

In 1983, mengxingzhuang people's commune was changed into mengxingzhuang Township, with 16 administrative villages;

In 1987, a new Wangma village was set up, together with the previous 17 administrative villages.

In 2003, baizao township was abolished and the original area was merged into mengxingzhuang township.
