Tianlou town
Tianlou town is subordinate to Guannan County, Jiangsu Province. It is located in the north end of the Yangtze River Delta and in the northeast of Guannan County, Jiangsu Province. It borders duigougang town in the East, sankou town in the west, Xiangshui town and Shuanggang town in Xiangshui County across the Guanhe River in the south, Xinyi River in the north and Guanyun County in the north. The town has been listed as a demonstration town of urban-rural integration, and has completed the strategic positioning report of the town industrial park project and the new town construction planning. Hepu new village, Heheng golden manor, old town transformation and other comprehensive start. The construction of 7.8 km Coastal Expressway Green Corridor and sightseeing belt was completed.
The town has a total area of 111.44 square kilometers (2017), 78150 people (2017), 25 administrative villages and 1 community.
In 2018, Tianlou town was selected as one of the National Top 1000 towns with comprehensive strength in 2018. In October 2019, Tianlou town was selected as one of the "Top 1000 towns with comprehensive strength in China in 2019".
In July 2020, it won the honorary title of national health Township from 2017 to 2019.
Historical evolution
The origin of the name
Tianlou town is an old revolutionary base. More than 150 years ago, a family surnamed Tian came to xiantianlou township to do business. Because of good management and accumulation of a lot of money, a wooden tile structure building with two upper and two lower floors was built. Later, the market gradually formed. People used to call it "tianjialou" when they went to the market. As time went on, it was called "Tianlou".
Evolution of administrative districts
In the 18th year of the Republic of China, the national government implemented the district township system, which was subordinate to the Fifth District of Guanyun county;
In 1942, it was the first joint defense area of Guandong office;
In 1945, it belonged to Tianlou district and mangniu District of Guanyun county;
In 1946, Duigou district was abolished and the two townships under its jurisdiction were classified as Tianlou district;
In 1950, mangniu district was abolished in Guanyun County, and the original 10 townships were merged into five townships, namely, Zhuhua, sanzhuang, Changmao, Dongxing and Erwei;
In 1954, Duigou township was added. In 1956, Tianlou District merged 16 townships under its jurisdiction into six townships: Zhuhua, Erwei, suguang, Yongzhi, Shude and Xingmu;
At the end of 1957, the district was withdrawn and merged into townships, and Tianlou district was abolished. Six townships under the original jurisdiction were merged into two townships, suguang and Shude;
On March 1, 1958, the villages in the area were assigned to Guannan County; in September of the same year, the people's commune was implemented in the whole county, which belonged to Shude commune and suguang commune;
In 1959, Shude commune was renamed Guanhe commune. In March of the next year, Guanhe commune established Duigou people's commune with eight brigades: Guangxu, Bachi, Siwei, miaoshe, jiudui, Hexing, Dazui and Duigou;
In March 1960, the name of suguang commune was changed to Tianlou commune;
In January 1966, 13 brigades of analytianlou commune established Danian people's commune, which is located in Changmao street.
In 1983, Tianlou commune was renamed Tianlou Township, and the original 15 production teams were set up as 15 villages.
In 2013, according to suzhengfu [2013] No. 21 document, Tianlou Township and Changmao town were abolished, and the original Tianlou Township and Changmao town were merged to establish a new Tianlou town. The town government was stationed in Sanxing street, Sanxing neighborhood committee of Changmao town. After the adjustment of administrative divisions, Tianlou town has an administrative area of 109.1 square kilometers and a population of 77000. It has jurisdiction over 25 village committees and one neighborhood committee.

Tianlou town is located in the northeast of Guannan County, Lianyungang and Yancheng, and the junction of Guanyun, Guannan and Xiangshui counties. It is adjacent to Guanhe River in the South and Xiangshui county only by a bridge; Xinyi River in the north; sankou town in the West and duigougang town in the East.
