History and culture
Guquan town is named for its famous Gugu spring. The spring water comes from a natural well, which is located in the south of Wutun road at the east foot of Dushan mountain. In a strange stone convex concave between, I do not know from what year to form a Wang Xiaotan, its Wai Zhang Yu, deep can see the bottom. This pool is full of water all the year round. It has been dry for a long time. The water quality is pure, mellow and delicious. The villagers around like to drink it for generations. In the 14th year of the reign of Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty, the county annals recorded that "the spring is inexhaustible in winter and summer, and can irrigate more than 300 mu of farmland.". In the early 1980s, the ancient spring water with beautiful legend attracted large state enterprises to settle down. The beer brewed by Guquan water soon became famous both inside and outside the province, and the "Guquan" which used to hide in the mountain stream also became famous in the north and south of the country. At the end of 1970s, a number of Neolithic cultural relics were unearthed in Shao village, Guquan Town, which were listed as Neolithic sites by archaeologists. Four or five thousand years ago, there were ancestors here.
Evolution of organizational system
Guquan town was originally Tuanshan township. According to historical records, the Ming Dynasty was the township capital system. In Xianfeng Period of Qing Dynasty, Li was changed to Tuan, and there were Tuanshan, xunfan, Taohua and other tuans. In the early years of the Republic of China, Tuanshan government office was set up in abandoned villages. In the 28th year of the Republic of China, it was called Tuanshan township. At the beginning of liberation, Xuanzhou was divided into seven districts. Tuanshan belonged to the Fourth District of Hanting. In 1952, it was the eighth District, with jurisdiction over 10 townships including Jingting, Changqiao and Sanyuan. Qianyou township was established in 1956, and Tuanshan senior agricultural cooperative was established in 1957. Hongzhuan people's commune was established in 1958 and renamed Tuanshan people's commune in the same year. In 1961, the large commune was changed into a small commune. In 1966, Tu village and Tuanshan were added. In 1969, the district was withdrawn and the society was merged. In 1982, it was changed into a township. In March 1989, Tuanshan Township established Guquan town in Taohong, Taohuayuan, Daishan, xunfan, Jiulian and shaocun. In March 1992, Tuanshan Township and Guquan town were merged to form new Guquan town.
