Tiaojing town

Tiaojing Town, a key town in Jiangsu Province, is located in Rugao City, Jiangsu Province. It is a combination of Jiali Township, Xiabao town and Tiaojing town. It is known as "Rugao west gate". It is adjacent to Hai'an in the north and Taixing in the West. It is located at the intersection of three counties, with a total area of 174.85 square kilometers and a population of 120793 (2017). It governs 17 administrative villages and 18 communities.

In October 2019, Tiaojing town was selected as one of the "Top 1000 towns with comprehensive strength in China in 2019". On May 26, 2020, Tiaojing town was selected into the list of strong agricultural towns in 2020.

In July 2020, the National Patriotic Health Association confirmed that the transferred town was the national health town in 2019.

Historical evolution

Its original name was Panjing, and it got its name from Panjing river. It is said that there was a monk in the Tang Dynasty who came here to preach the Scriptures. Because of the flood, he ordered his disciples to move out the Scriptures and expose them to the sun.

On March 20, 2013, with the approval of Jiangsu Provincial People's government, the area under the jurisdiction of the original Tiaojing town was merged with the three village committees of Xiaozhuang, Liuzhuang and Luzhuang under the jurisdiction of Gaoming Town, the three neighborhood committees of Zhongxin, Gaoming and Baozhuang, the three village committees of Wanquan, Loufeng and Tushan under the jurisdiction of Changqing Town, and the four neighborhood committees of hengdai, Yuanzhuang, Yezhuang and Dongwang to establish a new Tiaojing town The government was stationed at No. 3, Painted Garden Road, yuantiaojing town.

In the Song Dynasty, Yue Fei was stationed in Taizhou and was in charge of the military affairs of Tongtai. Once, Jin Wushu led Jin Bing to attack Taizhou and was defeated by the Yue army. Yue Fei led three thousand soldiers out of the city to pursue and kill until lengzhuang village, which is the East head of the town. The soldiers were so tired that Yue Fei ordered the three armed forces to stop here and tie their horses to an old locust tree. At this time, it was a hot summer day. The soldiers were sweating and thirsty. Yue Fei was walking anxiously under the big locust tree. Suddenly, a cool breeze was blowing on his face. Lengzhuang village was really cold. Yue's army simply squatted and sat down to enjoy the cool wind. Hearing that the Yue army had arrived, the people who moved the Scriptures flocked to bring tea and water to the generals and soldiers, hoping to see Marshal Yue's heroism. Yue Fei was very grateful for the enthusiasm of the people who carried the Scriptures. All the soldiers were in high spirits. They jumped on the horse, bid farewell to the people, and continued to pursue and kill the Jin soldiers. Since then, local people have taken great care of the old locust tree that Yue Fei tied to his horses. Adults and children have never broken it, and they have changed the name of the village to Shuanmazhuang. Today, the old locust tree is still luxuriant. Because the officers and soldiers of the Yue family took a rest here, they increased their strength. This is the origin of the name of Jiali township.
