Li Gongming

Director of Department of fine arts, director of Research Office of fine arts, Professor of Chinese art history, member of Academic Committee of Guangzhou Academy of fine arts. At present, he is a member of the CPPCC Guangdong Provincial Committee, deputy director of the Cultural Work Committee of Guangdong Democratic League, visiting researcher of Guangdong Art Museum and visiting researcher of Guangzhou Art Museum.

Profile

Born in October 1957 in Guangzhou, his ancestral home is Heshan, Guangdong. After graduating from middle school, he went to the countryside to cut in line for farming. He graduated from the History Department of South China Normal University in January 1982 and was assigned to Guangzhou Academy of fine arts as a teacher of Chinese art history. lecturer in 1986, associate professor in 1991 and professor in 1996. in 1999, he went to the center for Asian Studies, University of British Columbia, Canada as a short-term visiting scholar. He was the art director of Xiangning Art Museum (Shenzhen) from 2003 to 2004.
