Zhang Yanqing was the defense envoy of Chuzhou in the Southern Tang Dynasty. Chai Rong of Zhou Shizong attacked Chuzhou in the Southern Tang Dynasty. Zhang Yanqing held fast to the city. After the Zhou army broke the city, Zhang Yanqing said that he had been killed by the chaotic army and that he had committed suicide. Zheng Zhaoye, the governor of the Southern Tang Dynasty, also died.

Zhang Yanqing was the defense envoy of Chuzhou in the Southern Tang Dynasty. Chai Rong of Zhou Shizong attacked Chuzhou in the Southern Tang Dynasty. After Chen Chengzhao was defeated, Zhang Yanqing stayed in the isolated city for more than 40 days. After the Zhou army broke the city, Zhang Yanqing was killed by the chaotic Army (another way is to say suicide).
