He Manzi (1919-2009), formerly known as sun Chengxun, was born in Fuyang, Zhejiang Province in 1919. He is a famous essayist. Before liberation, he served as a reporter of Hengyang Li Bao, a reporter of Nanjing Dagang Bao, and a special commissioner of Tianjin Yishi Bao in Nanjing. After liberation, he was the general manager of Shanghai Freedom Forum evening news, the public bookstore, Professor of Chinese Department of Sinian University, editor and editor of Shanghai Classical Literature Publishing House and Shanghai ancient books publishing house. In his early years, he was engaged in the study of aesthetics and literary theory, and later in the study of ancient Chinese novels, as well as in the study of ideological history and folklore. Since he Manzi was 18 years old, he has been engaged in the war of resistance against Japan, the war of liberation, the anti rightist movement and the cultural revolution One movement after another, the old man who was born in 1919 was in decline. "I was born in 1919, during the May 4th movement that year, when I was 18 years old, it was the war of resistance again." He Manzi later went to Shanghai to fight against Japan and began his legendary life. From Shanghai to Wuhan and then to Yan'an, "I stayed in Yan'an for only a few months, but as soon as I left Yan'an, I was detained by the Kuomintang and sent to the Zhan Gan regiment." With the help of Cheng Zhongwen, the chief editor of the former Luoyang "Zhen Zhong daily", he left the Zhan Gan group and wandered all the way to Chengdu. From then on, he began to write newspaper supplements.
After the founding of new China, he Manzi came to the Chinese Department of Sinian university to teach, but he was led into the Hu Feng case. However, in the anti rightist movement, he Manzi's family was assigned to the foot of Helan Mountain in Ningxia and was not transferred back to Shanghai until 1964. During the "Cultural Revolution", he Manzi was sent back to his hometown of Fuyang for farming, and did not return to Shanghai until 1978.
