Yue gengting (1764-1842) was a native of Guojiazhuang, Yatou Town, Rongcheng City, Shandong Province. Yue Geng Ting was a poor family. Rongcheng county had compiled county annals in 1750, but it didn't go to press. In 1837, the county governor Li Tianfu advocated the compilation of Rongcheng county annals and hired Yue Geng Ting as editor in chief. He was dedicated and diligent in writing. It took him only half a year to write the first draft of the county annals. In order to improve the quality of the local records, it took another year and a half to make repeated textual research and revision. In 1840, Rongcheng county annals was published, with ten volumes and more than 20000 words. County governor Li Tianqi wrote a preface and Yue gengting wrote a postscript. This is the first official county annals of Rongcheng county.
