Huang Lianghui

Huang Lianghui (1840-1904), named Yaoting, was born in sanwutai (Tongxin Village), Fenshui town, Hanchuan, Hubei Province. Gaozu Hongyi III moved to Hanyang city. In his fashionable years, he was waiting for Zhang Xiaolian to give an examination in Hanyang city. He was introduced to the Department and supervised the class personally. Then he was known by Hanyang prefect Liu bingru and academic envoy Feng Zhanyun. At the age of 31, he won the imperial examination of Gengwu in tongzhi (1870), ranking first in the list. At that time, it was called "the seventh in the world, the first in Hubei". Zhang Zhidong, governor of Huguang, wrote an inscription for him, saying: "there must be famous people in five hundred years, and only scholars in thirteen provinces.".

Anecdotes and allusions

At the age of 20, Huang Lianghui met the great calligrapher he Shaoji. He Guo and e Hui gave eight pieces of cursive script, while Huang reported one long poem of seven ancient times. Zhang Zhidong, governor of Huguang, and Zhang qiaoye, Secretary of Shangshu, are his best friends. Huang Lianghui once met Li Hongzhang, but he was not taken seriously. He was also recommended by crown prince Ding Baozhen to Empress Dowager Cixi as Sipin Hualing (Dingzi), but he did not take office. On December 12, 1895, Zhang qiaoye, Minister of imperial envoy, invited him to Japan for negotiation. He thought it was a shame that he did not go to Japan to take care of his illness. Huang Lianghui has made great achievements in literature. Huang's Wen Chao is the crystallization of his painstaking efforts. Huang's Wen Chao was written in 1880. Most of the books are poems and Fu, and there are many essays and prefaces to life. Some of his friends also gave them some essays. The book consists of three volumes and more than 100000 words. Huang Lianghui studied calligraphy and couplets deeply. Calligraphy is not only thin, but also powerful. There are also many stories about his creation of couplets. In the year of guimao, Huang Lianghui died in the spring of the next year. Zu Li was buried in the field of huangziyuan in sanwutai, and was later granted the title of "Tongyi doctor" by Kyoto. Huang Lianghui always hated corrupt officials. This year, he heard that Zhang Zhidong, the new governor of Jiang Xia, had been transferred. He thought he was also a corrupt official, so he always wanted to sneer and vent his dissatisfaction. One day, Zhang Zhidong visited Hanyang. Huang Lianghui took the opportunity to write the first couplet of a couplet and asked someone to give it to Zhang Zhidong and ask him to write the second couplet. This couplet is "the road of the word, you should go." When Zhang Zhidong looked at it, Huang Lianghui used the word "Zhi" to make an article, implying that he had not taken a detour. He admired Huang Lianghui's courage. He didn't know what his literary talent was, so he sent someone to invite Huang Lianghui to his house to meet him. Huang Lianghui didn't know what medicine Zhang Zhidong sold in the gourd, so he didn't go to see him. He just wrote a second couplet for the visitors to bring back. This couplet is: "strange in the cave, what can I do?" the couplet is embedded with the name of "Zhidong". The couplet is bolder than the first couplet. It says clearly that I won't buy your account, see what you can do about me? Zhang Zhidong carefully pondered this couplet, praised it repeatedly, and went to visit Huang Lianghui in person. From then on, they became friends.

Related events

In 2002, Fenshui town raised more than 300000 yuan to build Huang Lianghui Memorial Hall in its hometown Qiwu village. On June 16, 2010, with the approval of Chinese couplet Association, Huang Lianghui Culture Research Association was officially established in Huang Lianghui Memorial Hall in Fenshui town of Hanchuan City, and the journal glow was published on the same day. On January 18, 2013, the bronze statue of Huang Lianghui was unveiled in Fenshui town, Hanchuan City.
