Wang Youde

Wang Youde, male, Hui nationality, was born in September 1953 in Lingwu, Ningxia. He joined the Communist Party of China in 1981. He is now the Secretary and director of the Party committee of the Administration Bureau of Baijitan National Nature Reserve in Lingwu, Ningxia, and the Secretary and director of the Party committee of Baijitan sand prevention forest farm in Lingwu. In May 2005, he was awarded the title of "national advanced worker" by the State Council. In July 2006, he was awarded the title of "National Excellent Communist Party member" and was commended and awarded by the CPC Central Committee.

On December 18, 2018, the CPC Central Committee and the State Council awarded Comrade Wang Youde the title of reform pioneer, the reform pioneer medal and the "Pathfinder of scientific desertification control".

On September 17, 2019, President Xi Jinping signed the presidential decree and awarded Wang Youde the national honorary title of "people's Paragon". On September 25, he was awarded the title of "the most beautiful fighter".

Personal story

In July 1986, Wang Youde launched his first major battle after taking office. In beishawo mobile sand dune area, he wants to develop 500 mu orchard. At this time, the extensive management over the years has made Baijitan Forest Farm stagnant, and the staff are scattered. We have no confidence in the farm, and we are skeptical about the development of beishawo. The primary problem facing Wang Youde is how to arouse everyone's enthusiasm. At that time, the economic conditions of the forest farm were not good, and the annual income of the workers was only a few hundred yuan. Wang Youde thinks that we can only use the actual actions of leading cadres to inspire everyone, and only by the will of leading cadres to gather workers. During the day, he and his staff pushed sand, leveled the fields, built channels, dug holes to fertilize and planted seedlings, and at night, lit kerosene lamps to arrange the next day's work. Wang Youde, who is only 3 kilometers away from home, lives in a tent on the construction site with his employees. He did not go home for more than 50 days at the longest time. Like his employees, he ate a meal of sand scraped into the construction site. In the morning, there was a layer of fine sand on his hair, face and quilt. As a leader, he took the lead in hard work. In Baijitan, Wang Youde took the lead in hard work and could not say more. Every employee could say a lot without thinking. During the construction of the pump room of the orchard in beishawo forest farm, Wang Youde and his staff transported hollow slabs to the roof together. In October 1992, the Lingwu municipal government allocated 8700 mu of sandy wasteland in the east of Daquan township to Baijitan forest farm, requiring the initial development of 1000 mu by the end of the year. After receiving the task, Wang Youde immediately led dozens of workers of the forest farm into the vast desert. It was early winter, and the cold wind was blowing in the endless desert of Daquan Township, and the sand was like a knife in the face. He and the workers worked and slept together. They had no place to cook, so their dry food was water. They spread the wheat straw on the sand and slept in peace. Wang Youde can only sleep three or four hours a day. Although his feet are so swollen that he can't even take off his shoes at night, he still insists on running back and forth on a few kilometers of Quba. In the meantime, he can go home by car, but he never does anything special. He lives here for three months.

Wang Youde has only one purpose in mind: to curb sandstorm and benefit the people. Over the past 18 years, his principle of doing things is to proceed from the overall situation and not engage in short-term behavior. At the beginning of winter in 1999, Lingwu City handed over the task of greening Lingzhou Avenue and 9 kilometers around the city to Baijitan forest farm. At that time, someone reminded Wang Youde that the municipal government's financial situation was tight, and the project cost of 2 million yuan was going to be delayed until the end of the year, and the forest farm was not well-off, so he had to find a way to push it off. Wang Youde immediately criticized and said, "our duty is to plant trees wherever we need them. As a forestry builder, we must contribute when we should. It's not a loss to plant more trees." During the planting period, the seedlings didn't arrive until 9 o'clock in the evening. In order to ensure high survival rate, it must be planted immediately. Wang Youde called on all the staff of the forest farm to plant the trees overnight. Wang Youde, who had to participate in a project negotiation the next day, worked until 4 a.m., and when he couldn't do it, he let his wife and eldest son take over from him. In May 2001, Baijitan Forest Farm won the bid for the greening project of the first contract of Guwang Expressway with the lowest price.
