All dark thrush of slightly larger body size (29 cm). The male is black with orange mouth, shallow eyes and black feet. The female has dark brown upper body, dark brown lower body and dark green yellow to black mouth. This bird is the same species as the familiar blackbird. It differs from the grey winged thrush in its dark wings.
