Liangyeshan National Nature Reserve is located in Wuping County, Fujian Province. The mountain system is the southernmost end of Wuyi Mountains and the east end of Nanling Mountains. Historical evolution

Liangye mountain is the main body of the nature reserve. The whole liangye mountain group enters Wuping County from Wuyi Mountains and extends eastward. It stretches to the top of Liangshan Mountain through dongmennaodong and Lianhuadong, and then extends to the northeast through Lishan and Guanshi mountain. The terrain is relatively high and undulating. The highest altitude is 1 538.4m, the lowest is 273m, the relative elevation difference is 1 265.4m, and there are more than 10 peaks above 1 000m. In the south, it is surrounded by its extended branches, the Longzhang mountains and the shijingling mountains, forming Wan'an, Chengguan, Zhongshan and other valley basins. The exposed rocks in the reserve are mainly granite.

The annual average temperature is 17.0 ~ 19.6 ℃, the extreme minimum temperature is - 6.3 ℃, the extreme maximum temperature is 38 ℃; the active accumulated temperature is 5000 ~ 5900 ℃, the annual average rainfall is 1706.5mm, the annual average relative humidity is 78%, and the frost free period is 278 days. The annual sunshine hours are 1 699.8h, and the total solar radiation energy is 18382.8kj/m2. The topography of liangyeshan area is complex and the altitude difference is wide, forming a variety of microclimate environment.

The zonal soil in the reserve is mainly red soil formed by weathering of granite, which shows a certain vertical change with the elevation: 273-600m is red soil, 600-900m is mountain yellow red soil, 900-1 450m is yellow soil, and 1 450-1 538.4m is mountain meadow soil. The soil layer of evergreen broad-leaved forest is deep and sticky, with the thickness of humus layer of about 20cm and the thickness of surface litter layer of 5-10 cm The surface soil is loam, the content of organic matter is 1.5-5.6%, and the pH value is 5-5.8.

Liangyeshan is the largest water conservation area in Wuping County. It is the natural watershed of Tingjiang River System in Fujian Province and Meijiang river system in Guangdong Province. The river system is radial, the river surface is narrow, and there are many gravels in the riverbed. It is a typical mountainous river, characterized by large slope, rapid flow, abundant rainfall and abundant hydraulic resources.

There are 370 species of terrestrial vertebrate wildlife in 85 families of 30 orders, 938 species of insects in 193 families of 28 orders and 122 species of macrofungi. There are many kinds of rare wild animals and plants under state key protection in the region, including 14 species listed as national first and second level protected wild plants, 23 species under provincial protection, 46 species under state first and second level protection, 34 species under Fujian provincial key protection, and 276 species under general protection. Scientific investigation
Liangyeshan National Nature Reserve has entrusted Xiamen University to carry out a comprehensive scientific investigation in order to further understand the biological resources and the law of their growth and decline. The investigation covers natural conditions, plants, vegetation, animals, insects, fungi and microorganisms. The basic resources of liangyeshan National Nature Reserve have been preliminarily found out. Administration
