Zhejiang Changshan National Geopark
synonym
Changshan National Geopark generally refers to Zhejiang Changshan National Geopark
Zhejiang Changshan National Geopark is located in Changshan County, located in the upper reaches of Qiantang River water system. The park was approved by the Ministry of land and resources in November 2001. It is divided into two parks: sanqushan Park and jinnailing park. Jinnailing park is its core Park, with a total area of 40 square kilometers. In the park, there are typical stratigraphic sections which are of great scientific research value to trace the geological history, and the stratigraphic sections of fossil assemblage zone. The most important one is the darewellian global boundary stratotype section in Huangnitang. So the stratigraphic section has the value of international correlation and research in science. The most important one is the darewellian global boundary stratotype section in Huangnitang.
Historical evolution
In the history of the earth, the Ordovician was between 510 million and 438 million years ago. Graptolites and conodonts, the main fossils of Ordovician strata, are well developed and preserved in the Huangnitang section of Changshan.
In January 1998, the International Union of Geosciences unanimously approved that this section is the first "golden nail section" in China.
In November 2001, Changshan National Geopark was successfully declared.
Since the plaque was awarded by the Ministry of land and resources on February 2, 2002, Changshan county Party committee and government have invested 36.76 million yuan to build new facilities such as Geopark theme Monument and geological museum.
Geological structure
The Huangnitang section was discovered in the 1970s and was fully reported at the Fourth International graptolite Congress in 1990. In 1993, the international boundary working group conducted a field survey in Jiangshan Changshan Yushan, where the Huangnitang section is located, and unanimously proposed that the section should be a global stratotype section point (GSSP) of darewellian stage. After publishing the research report, it was finally approved by the international Ordovician branch, the International Commission on stratigraphy and the Executive Board of the International Union of Geosciences. Therefore, the Huangnitang section became the only comparison standard of the Darwinian in the world, and a permanent mark (commonly known as "golden nail") was established in the section
So the stratigraphic section has the value of international correlation and research in science. The geological relics in Changshan County and its surrounding areas are characterized by Ordovician stratigraphic paleontological fossils, algal reef limestone karst landscape and tectonic geology, with a large number of Paleozoic stratotype sections in Jiangnan stratigraphic area and paleontological fossils produced in these strata. In particular, the early Middle Ordovician (460-500 million years ago) strata and graptolite and conodont fossils are well-known in the world. The late Ordovician (440-460 million years ago) sanhengshan algal reef limestone is also famous for its unique karst landform, biological characteristics and lithofacies changes. The yanwa mountain Ruoxi structural deformation zone is famous for its typical and perfect structural features of Ordovician ultrathick light metamorphic rocks, which constitute an excellent ornamental stone Huashi.
In addition, there are various micro geomorphic units formed by multi-stage development and the river geological landscape of Changshan port. The vast floodplain, the Populus euphratica forest on the terrace and the meteorological landscape in Changfeng area are rare in China.
Resource conditions
Changshan National Geological Museum is the first geological museum in Quzhou City. It displays more than 1000 kinds of rocks, paleontological fossils and specimens, as well as the geological structure sand table and geological evolution display board reflecting the geological characteristics of Changshan. It shows visitors the evolution history of strata and geological structures, especially the geological structure and evolution history and paleontological fossil types of Changshan during the Ordovician period.
Characteristic landscape
Changshan National Geopark is divided into four parks: jinjiazi Park, sanqushan Park, Qingshi Park and Changshan port park. Jinjiazi park is its core park.
Sanqushan scenic spot
The total area of Sanqu Stone Forest scenic spot is 27.58 square kilometers, which is composed of three parts. Sanqu mountain in the East is the mother mountain of Quzhou, which is famous for its elegance and delicacy. The main scenic spots are zhaogongyan and Sanqu Madonna. The small ancient mountain in the middle is characterized by its strangeness, danger and beauty. Its scenic spots are monkey watching the sea and independent trees in the south of the Yangtze River. The big ancient mountain in the west is famous for its twists and turns and magnificent momentum, including Sanqu corridor and Ziteng gorge
Valley, fairy cave and so on are called "Jiangnan unique" by Chinese and foreign tourists. The whole stone forest scenic area has various types of views, and various animal models are lifelike. It is known as the largest "pictographic stone zoo" in the world. The scenery of jadeite Stone Forest in sanqushan can be called "Xiujia southeast, Jiangnan unique" and "the first stone forest in East China". At the end of 2001, it was approved as a national geopark by the relevant state departments, covering a total area of 46 square kilometers, becoming one of the second batch of 33 National Geoparks in China.
Golden nail scenic spot
Huangnitang "golden nail" section is the first "golden nail" established by the International Union of Geosciences in China in January 1997. Located 3.5km south of Changshan City, it is the most perfect and typical area of the earth's Ordovician system. It is also a rare standard stratigraphic section in the world. It is known as the "living textbook in geological history" and has high scientific research tourism value. The scenic spot has become the practice education base and youth patriotism education base of Nanjing Institute of paleontology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. 460 million years ago, the Huangnitang "golden nail" section was an ocean. With the earth movement, the evolution of the earth's crust and the gradual elevation of the river bed, land was formed. Many marine organisms have gradually formed fossils, among which graptolite fossils, conodont fossils, brachiopod fossils, trilobite fossils are the four most important fossils, and a small number of gastropod fossils.

Qingshi scenic spot
The main landscape of Qingshi scenic spot is the tectonic relics formed by crustal movement. We often use "rock solid" to describe the stability of the earth. In fact, the crust beneath our feet is constantly moving. For example, 500000 years ago, the collision between India and Asia made the Himalayas rise from the ocean and become the roof of the world. Bluestone and Huashi, produced in Qingshi scenic spot, are famous ornamental stones in Southeast Asia. These rocks are caused by the force of crustal movement Yes.
Changshan port
Changshan port is the longest tributary of Qiantang River system and the main water system of Changshan. It has developed typical valley landscape in subtropical area.
Significance of inheritance
Geological relic refers to the typical geological phenomenon or landscape formed by the internal and external dynamic forces of the earth in the geological history period. The most important geological relics of Changshan National Geopark are the diannitang gold nail section, Ordovician strata and graptolite fossils, which are famous all over the world.
In January 1997, after the Huangnitang section became the first gold nail in China, the protection of geological relics in Changshan County attracted the attention of the Environmental Department of the Ministry of land and resources and local people's governments at all levels. With the technical support of Nanjing Institute of Geology and paleontology, Chinese Academy of Sciences and Zhejiang Geological Survey Institute, Changshan County People's government submitted an application to the Ministry of land and resources for the establishment of a national geopark.
In December 2001, Changshan National Geopark was approved. Geopark is a kind of natural area with the functions of scientific research, popular science, sightseeing and leisure, which is mainly composed of geological relics with special geological scientific significance and high aesthetic value, combined with other natural landscapes and cultural landscapes. Changshan National Geopark, with its unique stratigraphic landscape, Emerald Forest and tectonic deformation landscape, which integrates human and natural beauty, tells the story of the earth to people and becomes the Pearl of science tourism in eastern China.
