Shijia village is located in the east of Shangzhuang town. Shi Ronglu, the 15th grandson of Shi Shouxin, the founder of the Northern Song Dynasty, moved here to build a village. In order to commemorate the merits of their ancestors and show the glory of their distant ancestors, Shi Shouxin's descendants not only built the village and all the houses facing north from south, but also designed a checkerboard style village with the elements of houses, streets, ponds and streams as well as strict, neat and square construction.

In order to commemorate the merits of his ancestors and show the glory of his distant ancestors, Shi's descendants not only built the village and all the houses facing north from the south, but also made friends with Zhao Kuangyin. Therefore, they designed a square structure with buildings, streets, ponds and streams as elements, which was orderly, rigorous and neat It's a chessboard village.
Introduction to scenic spots
In the south of the village, Shi's ancestral hall is the Shuai mansion. In front of the ancestral hall, there is a seal pier built according to the proportion of Shi Shouxin seal. The big cypress planted on the pier is used as the seal handle, and the swaying green bamboo is planted around it. It is evergreen all the year round, which shows that Shi's generation has been an official for a long time. Taking the ancestral hall and fangtang as the central axis, the left and right symmetrical roadways are paved with fine gneiss every 30 meters, just like a chess grid. The lines are interlinked. Each roadway exit has a gateway, which is closed regularly every day, just like a castle. It not only ensures the safety of the village, but also facilitates the orderly production and life of the villagers. Taohua River in front of the village indicates that Shijia village, the "Chu River Han boundary", has been built for more than 600 years, and its original shape has not changed, so it is regarded as a village in the province It is recognized as a representative work of ancient Huizhou village cultural characteristics by foreign architectural circles. In the south of the village, there is Kuixing Pavilion, which was built in 1751, covering an area of 40 square meters with a square plane and a Xieshan roof. It is said that in order to express the idea of "opposing the Qing Dynasty and restoring the Ming Dynasty", the Shi family made a lot of fuss when they built the pavilion. The pavilion was big on the top and small on the bottom, which implied the meaning of Ming Dynasty being superior, Qing Dynasty being inferior, Ming Dynasty being strong and Qing Dynasty being weak. It was 17 feet under the eaves, symbolizing the 17 emperors of Ming Dynasty. The wing angle is 19 feet away from the ground, and the sum of the four corners is 76. In addition, there are 50 rafters in each square, a total of 200. The sum of the two numbers is exactly 276 years of the Ming Dynasty. The ingenious design and profound implication are rare in ancient Huizhou architecture.
