brief introduction
The origin of Jinding temple has a long history. In the Hongzhi period of Ming Dynasty (1488-1505 AD), monks built an nunnery here; in the Jiajing period (1522-1566 AD), Li Yuanyang, a scholar of Dali, built the Puguang hall; in the gengzi period of Wanli (1600 AD), sun Yuxian, the censor, visited the mountain and built the Guangming tower at the request of monks; in the year of Wanli Jiwei (1619 AD), he pointed to the envoy Pan Jun to build the Guanfeng Pavilion; in the year of Tianqi Dingmao (1627 AD), he pointed to the envoy Zhu Taizhen In 1637, Zhang Fenghe built Shanyu Pavilion and Luocheng to build "siguanlou". In 1639, Xu BIHONG built Jingxing Pavilion. In 1641, Mu Tianbo of the state of Guizhou moved the bronze and gold hall of Taihe palace in yingci mountain to the top of Tianzhu peak in Jizu mountain and abandoned Puguang hall to build the gold hall. Mu Tianbo thought that "Jin" conquered "Mu" (MU), which made his political field lose and his family decline. Therefore, he moved the Jindian to Jizushan. Jinding temple is named for its bronze "Golden Hall". From then on, the temple became more and more prosperous. In 1691 A.D., the halls and pavilions were destroyed by fire. Only the bronze and gold halls and pagodas survived. In the 31th year of Kangxi (1692 AD), fan Chengxun, the governor of Yunnan and Guizhou, and nomutu, the governor of Yunnan and Guizhou, obeyed the request of monks in the mountains to demolish the Guangming tower and build Tianyi Pavilion at the former site of Guanfeng building, which means "tianyishengshui" can prevent fire. In 1929, Long Yun, the chairman of Yunnan provincial government, went up to the mountain to build the Lengyan pagoda at the request of monks. The construction of the tower started in 1932 and was completed in 1934, which lasted for three years and cost 1 million yuan at that time. The tower is 42 meters high, square and densely eavesed. It has seven levels inside and thirteen floors outside. It stands on the top of Tianzhu peak. During the Anti Japanese War, it became a natural navigation mark for foreign aid to fly over the hump. Circling up the 53 spiral wooden ladder inside the tower, you can see the reclining statue of Sakyamuni in the second floor tower. The two-story tower is surrounded by iron bars to enjoy the mountains and valleys, the morning glow and the evening glow.
Temple Landscape
The Ming dynasty built the golden hall, which was destroyed during the cultural revolution. In addition to the Lengyan pagoda, Jinding temple has a well preserved gate. This gate is designed by Bai artists, which fully reflects the exquisite level of Bai architectural technology. The top of the door is lined with straight ridges, the two ends are vertical ridges, and the cornices are tilted. It is beautiful and generous. Enter the gate, Maitreya hall in front of the statue of Maitreya Buddha, after the statue of Bodhisattva Weituo. In the main hall behind the Lengyan pagoda, there is a Buddha statue of Sakyamuni. On both sides of the Buddha statue, there are statues of venerable Ananda, venerable Kaya, patriarch Dharma and the six armed Dharma protector. The platform in front of the gate of Jinding temple is about 8 meters high. The platform is spacious and flat. Visitors can enjoy the magnificent scenery of Jizu mountain from the railing. If you happen to come here, you can also see "Tianzhu Buddha light", one of the "eight sceneries" of Jizu mountain. At the turn of summer and autumn, the wind gathers the rain, and the white clouds cover the hillside, like the silver sea. There is a big circle of light in the white clouds, with six or seven halos on the outside and five colors in the middle. The empty light in the middle is as bright as a mirror. The viewer often shows up in the "mirror", commonly known as "taking body light", which is one of the wonders of Tianzhu peak.
