Site selection of ancient town
The trade market towns in Bashu area, also known as bazaars, are the same as those in the north. The site selection of towns in Bashu area follows the principles of Fortress, wharf and geomantic omen. The research of many domestic experts and scholars and historical practice have also proved that such a site selection basis is very scientific and reasonable.
Fortress principle
Yaoba ancient town has a long history and is one of the earliest six ancient villages and eight ancient towns in Hejiang. The ancient town was the post station on the main traffic road of Sichuan and Guizhou in Huangyou period of Northern Song Dynasty. It was the only way from ancient Jiangyang to Yelang country. It was known as "Sichuan Guizhou corridor". When there was no road between Luzhou and Chishui, merchants and official missionaries from southern Sichuan and Northern Guizhou all went to Chishui through Yaoba and would stop at Yaoba.
Wharf principle
The terminal is the node in the transportation network. The large-scale transfer node with both water and land transportation in Sichuan area is called waterway terminal, while the general land transportation node is "dry terminal". Yaoba Town, as a transit point between Luzhou and Chishui, also has a lot of vendors around the post station, and the market is gradually booming. The peddlers gathered here, with a complete range of goods, and became a well-known "Little Hong Kong".
Feng Shui principle
Geomantic omen is an important principle in the selection of ancient cities and towns in China, and it is not only the location of towns that pays attention to geomantic omen, but also the location of buildings that ordinary residents believe in. The mountains and rivers in Sichuan Basin are strange and changeable. Yaoba ancient town is built on Jiulong Jubao mountain. According to the remote view of Jiulong Jubao mountain, the remaining veins of Dalou mountain in northern Guizhou come from mang. Longgua mountain, xianding mountain and Gulou mountain are in steady echo, with the combination of movement and stillness, and the dragon is surrounded. Jiulong Jubao mountain is a symbol of the wonderful combination of Yaoba mountain and Lingren.
