Shenzhen Chiwan shenggai is a magnificent scenery with Tin Hau palace as the center, integrating the scenery of sea and mountain, imperial mausoleum and ancient temple, Chiwan fort, Nanshan peak smoke, Wulin holy land and ancient steles. Chiwan Tin Hau Temple dates back to the Song Dynasty. It was rebuilt in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, and its scale gradually increased. It became the most important Tin Hau Temple in the coastal area at that time. It was also the most famous cultural landscape in Shenzhen history, and enjoyed a high reputation in Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and Southeast Asian countries. There are beacon towers of Ming and Qing Dynasties near Tianhou palace, and Chiwan fort is on the hilltops on both sides of Chiwan at the south end of Shekou Peninsula in Shenzhen. Chiwan has an important geographical location. According to historical records, ancient ships travelling between Guangzhou and Nanyang countries all passed through here. Since the Ming Dynasty, the government has set up piers and abutments in Nanshan to prevent pirates. During the reign of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty (1662-1722), the fort was built in Chiwan. The fort stands on both sides of Chiwan, echoing from left to right and guarding against danger. The existing left Fort is rectangular in plane and faces south. It is divided into two parts: the platform and the wall. It is 26.2m long, 15.5m wide, 4.5m high and 3.78M high. The lower part is built with stones and the upper part is built with green bricks. There are 7 barracks on the platform, which are respectively soldier's room, official's room, holy hall, kitchen and ammunition depot. According to Jiaqing's Xin'an County annals and Daoguang's Guangdong coastal defense collection, Chiwan Fort belongs to Guangdong Navy's taibiao Zuoying and is under the command of Nantou fort. There are 20 soldiers and 7 iron guns on each fort. During the Opium War, Chiwan Fort played a lot of roles in sending enemy information signals. It was abandoned during the reign of Guangxu (1875-1908). Now the fort has been turned into a tourist spot, and a bronze statue of Lin Zexu more than 2 meters high has been erected on its side. Nowadays, most of the cultural relics and tourist attractions of shenggai in Chiwan have been completed, and are welcoming guests from all over the world with a new look to visit, travel and find their roots.
