Qiushui villa is a Jiangnan courtyard building named after his wife Shen Qiushui by Shi Liangcai, a Chinese newspaper magnate and Shanghai newspaper owner in 1930s. It's just beside the West Lake. When you open the door, it's on the Bank of the West Lake. Now there's a hotel in it, but it's still very leisurely to come here to drink tea and enjoy the beautiful scenery of the West Lake.
Qiushui Villa
In the 1930s, Shi Liangcai, a Chinese newspaper tycoon and the owner of Shanghai Shenbao newspaper, named his wife Shen Qiushui and built a courtyard style building in the south of the Yangtze River. It covers an area of about 200 square meters, surrounded by courtyards, walls and iron gates along Beishan Road. It is now a part of Xinxin hotel.
The origin of Qiushui Villa
Qiushui Villa
The villa of autumn water. Qiushui, formerly known as Shen Huizhi, was a prostitute in Shanghai beach in the late Qing Dynasty. When she became an adult, she was ransomed by a royal Bailey and carried to the capital. A few years later, Lord Baylor died, so he swept some property back to Shanghai beach. It is said that when she arrived in Shanghai, even at an old friend's home, the old friend was overjoyed and immediately took her out to dinner, leaving her belongings in the care of her friends present at that time. When they returned home, it was late at night, and the friend was still keeping his belongings and sitting by himself. Therefore, Qiushui met her friend, Shi Liangcai, and began her love and hatred for the rest of her life.
Qiushui is good at playing music with guqin, and is regarded as a bosom friend with Shi Liangcai. Shi Liangcai changed her name to Qiushui. Qiushui became Shi Liangcai's second wife and gave all her belongings to him. As a result, Shi Liangcai bought Shenbao and Xinwen Bao, and became the leader of Shanghai newspaper industry. But Qiushui's happiness didn't last long. Shi Liangcai had an outside room. She was also a talented woman who could help him in his career and gave birth to a daughter for him. When it comes to Shi Liangcai, this man is really lucky. He met three women who made his career. First, he was a talented woman who helped him set up Shanghai women's sericulture school, started his career and gave birth to a son. Second, he was Shen Qiushui. Third, he later became an outside room. Shen Qiushui is the only one of the three who has no children. She entrusts everything to Shi Liangcai and adheres to him wholeheartedly. When she knows that Shi has an outer room, she must feel lonely and sad. Maybe Shi Liangcai felt that his work was unfair to Qiushui, so he built a villa at the foot of Geling mountain beside the West Lake in Hangzhou to give her a present, and wrote the plaque of "Qiushui villa" by himself.
Women are always the most stupid and easily moved. When Qiushui comes to the West Lake and sees Qiushui villa, all the grievances and grievances are paid to the West Lake. Later, she often lived in Qiushui villa. Maybe only in Qiushui villa can she forget her troubles and become a real Qiushui girl.
In 1934, Shi Liangcai and Qiushui were assassinated by secret agents on their way back to Shanghai from Hangzhou. Qiushui saw his lover die beside him. It is said that in Shi Liangcai's mourning hall, Qiushui, dressed in white and plain clothes, was haggard. Holding Shi Liangcai's favorite lyre, he played Guangling San. At the end of the music, the sound of the piano suddenly surged up. With a "jump", the string broke. Qiushui picked up the piano, went to the fire bowl and threw it into the fire. "Guangling San" is no longer a bosom friend!
Later, Qiushui left Qiushui mountain villa, also left the historian, alone, burning incense chanting, for the rest of his life. Qiushui villa became a women's and children's Hospital, which was nationalized after liberation and became a branch of Xinxin hotel.
