Guanyin scenic spot on the Yangtze River
Located at the northern foot of Mufu mountain, Gulou District, Nanjing City, the Yangtze River Guanyin scenic spot is close to the Yangtze River. It has a linear layout in the east-west direction. The famous scenic spots include Guanyin Pavilion, Toutai cave, ertai cave and Santai cave, with a total length of 1.5 km and an area of 120000 square meters. It is the first scenic spot along the Yangtze River in China with the theme of Guanyin culture.
Guanyin scenic area of the Yangtze River is located in the long and narrow plot between Mufu mountain and the Yangtze River. Guanyin Pavilion and "three caves" are very famous scenic spots in ancient history, and Guanyin culture in this area has been very popular since ancient times. Guanyin pavilion was built in the hongwuyuan period of Ming Dynasty (1368 A.D.), because there are Guanyin stone carvings imitating wudaozi of Tang Dynasty on the cliff. Monks chose this site to build the pavilion and got the name Guanyin Pavilion.
Layout of scenic spots
Along the way, the Yangtze River Guanyin scenic area is divided into eight sub scenic areas, including Guanyin Pavilion, baizilin, shijingyuan, Toutai cave, ertai cave, Qingyuan square, Santai cave and fanyin garden. There are many Guanyin statues with different themes, such as holy statue Guanyin, Songzi Guanyin, Qianshou Guanyin, medicated Guanyin, Longtou Guanyin, wolian Guanyin, Shuiyue Guanyin, Zhongbao Guanyin, and many sculptures are interspersed The cliff carvings and painted frescoes with Buddhist themes show the ancient Guanyin culture in China.
The scenic area is divided into two parts: the east part is divided into five parts: Guanyin Pavilion, baizilin, shijingyuan, Toutai cave and ertai cave; the west part is divided into three parts: Qingyuan square, Santai cave and fanyin garden. "Avalokitesvara" is a free translation of Sanskrit, which literally means the Bodhisattva who observes the voice of the people in the world. It is one of the four Bodhisattvas. It is said that in order to avoid Li Shimin's taboo in the Tang Dynasty, the word "Shi" is omitted, which is called "Guanyin" for short. Besides itself, Guanyin has 32 incarnations, each of which has its own meaning. There are more than ten incarnations of Guanyin in the scenic area. Each Guanyin has its own characteristics and represents all kinds of good wishes.
